My partner, who absolutely loves meat, picked Gyuen Dang Seongsu Main Branch (규엔당 성수본점), a Seongsu favorite!!! We visited at around 3 PM on a weekend—an awkward mealtime, because we were worried there might be a wait—and there were still 12 teams ahead of us hahaha. Thank goodness we had booked in advance; otherwise, we might have ended up waiting until dinner lol... Anyway, let me introduce this Seongsu Japanese date-spot where the beef cutlet seriously melted in our mouths.
What we ordered at Gyuen Dang
Here is Gyuen Dang's menu! It seems to be broadly divided into beef cutlet, omelet rice, curry, udon, and rice bowls.

I wanted omelet rice, while my partner is firmly on team meat, so we ordered beef cutlet!!! The brie omelet rice was also marked as a best seller, but I thought too much cheese might get overwhelming, so I went with the hamburg steak version!

How was the hamburg omelet rice?
First, the omelet rice I ordered!!!!! The sauce went so well with it, and every bite melted in my mouth, making me happy. It may have tasted even better because it was our first meal of the day haha. Both the omelet rice and beef cutlet exceeded expectations!! The egg on the omelet rice was especially soft and moist; the moment I cut it with my spoon, it gently spread apart. Paired with the hamburg steak, it was nutty and filling, such a good combination haha. I debated getting a cheesier menu item, but personally, I think choosing the hamburg steak was the right call!

Tenderloin beef cutlet you grill yourself
Then came my partner's beef cutletttt. Wow, it disappeared in our mouths just like the omelet rice.... Better still, you can grill the gyukatsu (Japanese breaded beef cutlet) yourself to your preferred doneness. It was crisp outside, incredibly tender inside, and properly juicy...!! It was delicious with just a little wasabi, and eating it with the accompanying Isigny butter completely changed the flavor, so it was fun trying all the combinations.
The portions were more generous than expected, so the two of us were quite full afterward. I recommend ordering one omelet rice and one beef cutlet to share!! If you want to try both, I think this is the best order haha. It reminded me of food I had in Japan a long time ago, and it was such a satisfying meal.

With wasabi on top—what more can I say? So delicious. Isigny butter is also served, so grill it to suit your taste! It was good enough to remind me of the gyukatsu I had in Tokyo before.

Be sure to follow the guide for enjoying it!
A busy dining room for family meals and dates
There were lots of families as well as couples on dates, and I liked that there were more seats inside than I expected. Isn't that what makes it a real Seongsu Japanese date restaurant—somewhere families come too?

We sat near the entrance where the food comes out, and it was fun watching them plate everything hahaha. The best seats for checking out the other dishes too.

How to get to Gyuen Dang Seongsu Main Branch and the wait
Gyuen Dang's Seongsu branch is right next to Bétong, the famous salt-bread spot!! Take the stairs on the left up to the second floor!!

Even when we went at around 3 PM on a weekend, there were 12 teams waiting.. You can reserve through Naver Booking, so I recommend making a Naver Booking or Catchtable reservation in advance!! I really recommend it as a true Seongsu Japanese date restaurant.
