Seoul Station gyukatsu restaurant just before last order: Ichigyu

Today I visited a gyukatsu spot I found near Seoul Station! There are surprisingly a lot of good restaurants around Seoul Station, so I was debating where to go and ended up deciding on gyukatsu haha. Let me introduce it now!! 🥩

Where is Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch? One minute from Exit 10

Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is about a 1-minute walk from Exit 10 of Seoul Station toward the LG Seoul Station Building. The address is B116, B1F, 98 Huam-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul.

At first we were looking for Exit 10 at the train station side of Seoul Station instead of the subway station side, so we asked a station staff member — turns out there's no Exit 10 on the train station side 😂 Just in case anyone else gets confused like us, wanted to let you know beforehand! haha

The restaurant is located in the basement of the LG Seoul Station Building, so if you go down the stairs on the left side outside the building, you'll find it right away!!

There's also a menu board set up outside the restaurant, so I could check the menu before going in

Inside Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch: seating, hours and last order

As soon as I walked in, a giant cow figure caught my eye! It was bigger than I expected so I took a picture out of curiosity haha

The interior had that Japanese restaurant feel throughout. The cow-shaped lamps and the walls in particular were decorated in a Japanese style, so it really felt like a proper gyukatsu place 🐮🥩 It was fun to look around haha

The store was more spacious than I expected! Even though we visited when last order was nearly up, about 5 tables were still occupied! There were quite a few people eating even at that late hour, so it seemed like a popular spot near Seoul Station haha

Can you join the receipt review event more than once?

There was also a receipt review event going on! You get 1 fried shrimp per review, and you could also choose thinly sliced grilled rice cake or cheese to grill. Since it's combinable with the fried shrimp review, it seemed like a good one to join together if you're with company~!

On one side of the table there was also a mini brazier set up so you can grill the meat yourself 🔥

Aprons were also available near the register, so if you need one, feel free to grab it yourself! haha

There was also a menu at the table so I could take my time checking it while seated. The menu types were laid out to be easy to see at a glance!!

Grilling the gyukatsu and steak set on the mini brazier

On the left is the gyukatsu and on the right is the steak set! Side dishes included pickled cabbage and soybean paste soup with tofu as standard, and salt, chili sauce, and something like soy sauce for dipping the gyukatsu were also set up on the tray haha. Such a solid spread, right?!

The rice comes in a bowl like this! You scoop out as much as you want into a small plate. Plus if you run out while eating, rice refills are free so you can eat more without worrying about it

Before eating, they melt the butter like this! And then you just place it on top and grill it like this

The meat in the steak set literally melted in my mouth with the first bite! 🥩 The juices felt moist and it was so tender that the more I chewed, the more savory it got — it was so good ㅠㅠ

The gyukatsu had a crispy fried exterior while the meat inside was moist and tender, giving it a really great texture! 🥩 Grilling it slightly on the mini brazier made the juices come up and deepened the flavor even more haha

We also joined the receipt review event and got fried shrimp! 🍤 The shrimp were plump and crispy, great to eat as a side haha

Is Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch worth a late visit?

This was a great gyukatsu spot for a filling meal near Seoul Station! From the gyukatsu to the steak, the meat was tender and delicious, so I was very, very satisfied 🥩 If you're looking for somewhere to have lunch or dinner near Seoul Station, this place is worth a visit 😊
