Janghanpyeong Station beef butcher restaurant, 6 cuts: Ilbeonji
In short
Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch is a beef butcher-shop grill restaurant in Jangan-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, a short walk from Janghanpyeong Station. The writer came with his son and ordered the Big Beef Set, 600g + 600g, grilling six cuts — sirloin, chuck flap tail, hanging tender, short rib finger meat, flat iron and thin-sliced beef belly — with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) bubbling in the middle of the grill and self-serve side dishes on the side. Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang suits a family dinner where everyone wants to taste and compare several beef cuts at once.

Where is Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang, the beef restaurant near Janghanpyeong Station?
Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch is a beef butcher restaurant on the 1st floor, 18 Janghan-ro, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, in a spot that's easy to find from Janghanpyeong Station. When I'm craving beef, I always end up looking for a jeongyuk sikdang (butcher-style meat restaurant) where I can really pile up the meat — so this time I went to Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang, the Janghanpyeong direct-run branch known as a local favorite near the station. It's close to the station, so it's easy to get to, and a great spot when you want to properly enjoy beef in Jangan-dong, so I wanted to introduce it!
Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang is in a spot that's easy to reach from Janghanpyeong Station, so accessibility is great. It's convenient whether you're meeting someone near the station or having a family meal out in Jangan-dong haha~

Busy even early on a weekday: why the Big Beef Set is the menu to order
Even though I visited on an early weekday, Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch was buzzing with customers! The tables were almost all full haha, so it was actually a struggle just to get a photo of the menu lol.
When I go out for meat, the atmosphere matters, but personally what I care about most is how many different cuts I can try. That's exactly why I love jeongyuk sikdang — comparing different cuts is half the fun. This time too, after some deliberation over the menu, we ordered the big beef set so we could taste a variety of cuts evenly!

Self-serve side dishes and doenjang jjigae in the middle of the grill
Basic side dishes are provided, and you can go grab refills yourself! My son loved the macaroni salad so much he finished it all lol. The seasoned green onion was great too — eaten together with the meat and some onion, it's honestly the best haha.

They also simmer a doenjang jjigae right in the middle of the grill, and this one was really tasty too haha. Dipping the beef belly into this doenjang jjigae is also delicious — a little tip I picked up lol.

Which cuts come in the 600g + 600g Big Beef Set?
The big beef set we ordered that day, 600g + 600g, was exactly what the name suggests — a chance to enjoy several beef cuts all at once. Sirloin, chuck flap tail, hanging tender, short rib fingers, flat iron, and beef belly were all included, so even on a single plate you could taste something different with every cut!
If you love beef, trying several cuts is so much better than sticking to just one, right? Especially when you're with family or friends who each have their own favorite cut, being able to try a bit of everything was a real plus.

Having all the meat laid out at once made for a seriously hearty-looking spread, so I snapped a few photos — seeing the table fully set really gave me the feeling of 'we're here to properly eat beef' haha.

How the beef tastes grilled, with salt and lettuce wraps
As the meat started sizzling, that savory meat aroma rose up and really got the appetite going~ It had a clean yet savory flavor that I think basically anyone would like. Dipped lightly in salt, you get the pure taste of the meat itself, and it also paired well with wraps and other sides~

Eating through several cuts, you naturally start comparing which one's best — and personally, my son and I both loved the chuck flap tail lol. Beef can get tough if it's overcooked, so it's best to grill it just right to your taste and eat it right away!

Finishing the meal with thin-sliced beef belly
After working through the different cuts, grilling the beef belly last felt like a whole different experience. It's thin, so it cooks fast on the grill and is easy to eat, with a nice savory flavor that made it perfect to mix in between other cuts. Enjoying the thicker cuts first and finishing with beef belly changed up the texture too, which somehow made it taste even better lolololol.

Who this Jangan-dong beef restaurant suits best
The big beef set (600g+600g) I had at Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang, a well-known spot near Janghanpyeong Station, is really a great fit for anyone who wants to try a wide variety of cuts evenly! From sirloin to chuck flap tail, hanging tender, short rib fingers, flat iron, and beef belly, being able to taste it all at once made for a much more varied meal than sticking to one cut~

If you want to properly enjoy beef cut by cut, how about checking out the Jangan-dong butcher restaurant, the Janghanpyeong beef spot Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang, that I introduced today? haha
