3-month grown-out roots to deep black dye: Gangnam salon Beorn Hair

A record of my visit to Beorn Hair Cheongdam, a hair salon near Gangnam-gu Office Station.

I was in the US for three months and couldn't do a root touch-up the whole time, so the moment I got back to Korea I ran straight to the salon.

I was going to go back to my usual ash brown, but my style has been shifting lately, so I decided to try a totally black look instead. Black it is! Going for that cool, aloof city-girl vibe~

The moment I walked in I was so happy with how spacious and clean the interior was! The whole place is decorated neatly and stylishly, so I felt good the second I stepped in. What I especially loved was the big, generous waiting area — I could sit comfortably with a cup of tea while I waited.

From ash brown to black: the consultation

The staff and my designer welcomed me so warmly and kindly that all my travel fatigue just melted away. During the consultation she examined my hair condition closely and listened carefully to everything I wanted.

My original plan was to go back to ash brown, my long-time signature color — I've always loved it for its subtle, sophisticated feel!

But as we talked, I realized my fashion style and overall vibe have shifted a bit from before, and I felt like this was the moment for a real image change.

How the all-over black dye went
