Gwanggyo Japanese restaurant date for two: sharing gyukatsu at
In short
Gyuen-dang Avenue France Gwanggyo Branch is a Japanese restaurant in Suwon's Gwanggyo Avenue France mall where each guest grills gyukatsu (Japanese-style breaded pork or beef cutlet) at their own tabletop grill. The writer ordered striploin gyukatsu for 19,000 won and tenderloin gyukatsu for 24,000 won to share, and the striploin's crisp-outside, juicy-inside texture after just 15 seconds per side stood out most. It's recommended as a date or blind date course, capped off with a walk around Gwanggyo Lake.

I went out on a date to Gwanggyo again after a while. Avenue France in Gwanggyo has so many good restaurants. Today we visited Gyuen-dang Avenue France Gwanggyo Branch, a Japanese restaurant. The food was delicious and the vibe was great, making it a wonderful Gwanggyo Jungang Station restaurant for a date spot ><!!

Getting there from Gwanggyo Jungang Station and parking

Gyuen-dang Avenue France Gwanggyo Branch is a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gwanggyo Jungang Station, so it's convenient by public transport. They also support 4 hours of parking at Avenue France B2 Zone D24, so driving there works too. It's just right for a Gwanggyo date course haha.
The atmosphere and the personal-grill seating

The interior is spotless!! The owner was really kind too, which made the visit feel even better.

It's a Gwanggyo Japanese restaurant where you can comfortably enjoy gyukatsu with your own personal grill. The atmosphere was calm too, so it was easy to talk. Groups, couples, and solo diners all seemed to come through.
Menu and prices

The main dishes are tenderloin and striploin gyukatsu! Omurice, curry, and rice bowls are also popular.

- Striploin gyukatsu: ₩19,000
- Tenderloin gyukatsu: ₩24,000

The striploin gyukatsu is Gyuen-dang's signature and most popular dish — I recommend everyone try it.

Seeing the striploin gyukatsu's bright pink color alone made my mouth water,, it was full of juice, and the marbling was a work of art!

It comes as a neat set meal on one tray — it looks tidy and tastes great too.
How is the tenderloin gyukatsu different?

I was curious about the tenderloin gyukatsu too, so I ordered it. Bright pink marbling again!! It looked soft just from looking at it.

It was a bit thicker than the striploin gyukatsu. I expected the texture to be great.

Gyukatsu tastes even better because you can grill it to your preferred doneness yourself! If you're wondering where to go for a Gwanggyo blind date, I'd recommend eating gyukatsu together — it keeps things from feeling awkward haha.
The cabbage salad and miso soup sides

The cabbage salad and miso soup come together on the tray. They're good to eat before the meal, and eating them between bites of gyukatsu cuts through the oil nicely and refreshes your palate. Above all, the cabbage salad dressing is absolutely delicious!!👍🏻✨

Salt, wasabi, and a special sauce also come alongside, so you can enjoy it however you like.

The soft tenderloin and the meaty-flavored striploin each have their own distinct taste. If you're coming as a couple, I recommend ordering one of each to share!!
How many seconds should you grill it for the best taste?

Grilling gyukatsu yourself on the mini grill really is part of the fun. Rather than cooking it all the way through, I recommend just lightly searing the outside — about 15 seconds on the front and 15 seconds on the back.
The gyukatsu's breading is really thin but crispy, so it still has presence. Crispy outside, juicy and moist inside with tons of meat juice — the texture was the best. I'd rank this the number one gyukatsu I've ever had..!!

For the first bite, I dipped it lightly in just salt to enjoy gyukatsu's natural flavor. The juice bursts in your mouth..!! A nutty flavor spread throughout. The meat quality is so good it melts in your mouth.

Second, I added some butter flavor. The nuttiness got even richer — amazing flavor!💕 Adjust the butter to your taste.

It's delicious plain, but it's even better with the wasabi, salt, and special sauce that come with it. Mixing up the combinations means you never get tired of it and end up devouring it all haha.
How is it as a date course?
Gyuen-dang Avenue France Gwanggyo Branch is a Gwanggyo Jungang Station restaurant that's great for dates and blind dates. Highly recommended for anyone looking for Japanese food in Gwanggyo..!! Eat until you're full, then go for a walk around Gwanggyo Lake for the perfect date course ><! I keep thinking about the delicious gyukatsu, so I'm planning to visit again soon!!👍🏻
