Suwon burger restaurant with free potato chips: Base Burger
In short
Base Burger Gwanggyo Avenue France Branch is a burger restaurant in Suwon, Gyeonggi. We shared a Crunchy Chicken Burger Set, the signature Base Burger, and Chili Mozza Cheese while comparing five free sauces and using the potato-chip self-service bar. A handy spot for handmade burgers at Gwanggyo Avenue France
Base Burger Gwanggyo Avenue France Branch exterior

Base Burger is inside Gwanggyo Avenue France, so it is in a great spot for a meal after shopping or while out on a date. Gwanggyo Avenue France has a spacious parking lot, making it easy to park and head upstairs, and we chose handmade burgers for dinner after visiting Avenue France that day.

Since it is inside Avenue France, it was nice to browse the other stores before or after eating, and using the Avenue France parking lot was convenient too.
Check the opening hours

Base Burger Gwanggyo Avenue France Branch operates from lunch through dinner, so it seemed like a good choice for either meal at Avenue France. I recommend checking Naver Place before you go for the exact hours and last-order time that day.
A casual restaurant and a potato-chip self-service bar
An interior suited to a light meal for two or sharing with a group

Inside, it was a handmade-burger restaurant with a casual feel. It looked good for a light meal for two, or for visiting with a group and sharing burgers and sides.

And the thing that immediately caught my eye was the potato-chip self-service bar. Potato chips are set out, so you can take as much as you want yourself.
At first I thought I would keep going back for these, but once I brought over one serving and ate it with the burgers, it was just the right amount, haha. Still, it was interesting that you can take as much as you want without an extra charge.

What we ordered and the menu

That day, we chose the Crunchy Chicken Burger Set, Base Burger, and Chili Mozza Cheese. We wanted to try Base Burger's basic signature burger, but were also curious about the chicken burger, so we ordered one of each. We also added the new Chili Mozza Cheese.

Base Burger offers sauces for free. You can choose the ones you want, but the owner gave us all five flavors, so we could compare every one as we ate.
Quickly served handmade burgers and plastic gloves

Our two handmade-burger sets came out quickly! They gave us a plastic glove each so we could enjoy the burgers comfortably, which made eating easy the whole time.

Alternating between a crisp chicken burger and a classic handmade burger
The Crunchy Chicken Burger's crisp texture
First, the Crunchy Chicken Burger. Just as its name suggests, it has crispy chicken, so the texture really came through with every bite. Eating the bun, vegetables, and chicken together was crisp, with all the ingredients coming through, and it was more filling than I expected. It felt completely different from a burger with a beef patty, so ordering different items with your companion and sharing them is a good idea too.

Base Burger House Sauce went best with the burgers, followed by the mentaiko sauce. Even the fries were tasty.

The signature Base Burger and Chili Mozza Cheese
Second was the signature Base Burger, which shares its name with the restaurant. When you visit a handmade-burger place for the first time, you have to try the signature menu at least once, haha.

With its patty, cheese, and vegetables, it delivered that proper handmade-burger taste. While the Crunchy Chicken Burger's highlight was its crisp texture, the Base Burger had more of the appeal of a classic handmade burger with a meat patty. The two had different styles, which made alternating between them fun.
Then there was the new Chili Mozza Cheese, which we added because we were curious. The chili-and-mozzarella-cheese combination sounded like it would go well with burgers, so we ordered it. The rich chili flavor with cheese made it more punchy and generous than eating plain fries. If burgers alone feel a little lacking, it would be fine to order this to share.
A Gwanggyo dinner remembered for its potato-chip self-service bar
We visited Base Burger Gwanggyo Avenue France Branch for handmade burgers at Gwanggyo Avenue France. Trying one Crunchy Chicken Burger and one Base Burger was fun because their styles were different, and after adding the new Chili Mozza Cheese, we left quite full.
Most of all, being able to take as many potato chips as you wanted from the self-service bar was distinctive. At first we thought we would go back a few times, but one plate with the burgers was more than enough, haha. If you are shopping in Gwanggyo and craving a handmade burger, or looking for a good place to eat at Gwanggyo Avenue France, it may be worth a visit.
