Rooftop café in Cheonan with shrimp chipotle pizza: Geurimseu Cafe

Wherever I go, checking out local landmarks, specialties, restaurants and cafés is part of my daily routine. Last weekend, on a rainy afternoon, I went to Cheonan and visited a large café with a pretty name — Geurimseu Cafe. Here's my review!

Where is Geurimseu Cafe and where do you park?

Geurimseu Cafe is a Cheonan brunch spot located at 232 Mijuk 5-gil, Dongnam-gu, tucked at the foot of a mountain along an access road close to the main street. The café's white building sits right there. The parking lot is very spacious and split into two sections. The one right in front of the store was already full, so I went back down and parked in the lower lot before walking up.

The rain had stopped, but the ground was still damp, which made the surrounding trees look even more vivid and fresh. I came here to feel that kind of nature, and it didn't disappoint — a truly lovely place. Seems like it'd be great with kids too, right? In fact, there were plenty of families with children, couples on dates, and groups of friends out for a weekend visit despite the rainy weather.

How big is the inside of this large Cheonan café?

Let me walk you through the spacious, comfortable interior corner by corner. It's so clean and pretty that I ended up photographing every nook.

There's a raised seating section with a step up, and tables are spread across various parts of the large space. The tables are spaced generously apart, so there were plenty of people with kids, families, couples, and someone working alone on a laptop — that's the inside of the large Cheonan café Geurimseu!

Right at the entrance, various plants are thriving, and there's fun in the cute little interior details too. The space is wide enough that there were even kids in strollers. Some kids were sitting in chairs taking photos.

Geurimseu Cafe offers various perks including brunch drink discounts, loyalty stamps, discounts for nearby university students, and review events — worth checking out.

In the fridge, only mugwort siru cake (steamed rice cake), fresh peach cake with yogurt cream, and sweet pumpkin cheese cake were left. There were also kids' drinks. They sell cold brew concentrate too — I should have bought a bottle... next time.

Arrive late afternoon and the bread is sold out

This Cheonan brunch spot has a wide variety of bakery and brunch items, but visiting later in the day means some things are bound to be sold out. The bread is made fresh daily and discarded the same day if unsold — that's their policy.

I visited after lunch, later in the day, and a lot of the bread items were already sold out.

How does the shrimp chipotle wood-fired pizza taste?

Today's dish

The pizza I ordered at Geurimseu Cafe was topped generously with plump shrimp cut into bite-sized pieces. Onion and cheese round things out. There's a hefty amount of chipotle sauce on top, which pairs well with the cheese's nutty savoriness — slightly spicy with a nice umami kick.

The plain wood-fired dough I love — the handmade crust's bottom is very thin and incredibly chewy.

The crisp, savory scent so characteristic of wood-fired pizza rose up first, which I loved. The plump, springy shrimp paired beautifully with the spicy chipotle sauce — not the least bit greasy, and I kept reaching for more. A really delicious pizza!

True to wood-fired style, the edges of the crust were browned nicely golden — looks great, doesn't it? The dough was so chewy and nutty.

This Cheonan brunch spot has huge floor-to-ceiling windows that let you enjoy a beautiful view, and the brunch, pizza and coffee are all genuinely delicious.

Geurimseu Cafe has spacious seating suited to family or group gatherings, complete with high chairs, and it stands out for its nature-friendly setting. The comfortable, spacious café has plenty of 4-seat tables, plus large tables scattered throughout that would work well for group meetups. This Cheonan brunch café offers a wide range of breads, pizzas, pastas and drinks, all while you enjoy natural views that change with the seasons — that was my review of Geurimseu Cafe, a large café in Cheonan.
