See-through shadow perm + down perm in Gwanggyo, Suwon: Yuwolae

Today I'm introducing a place famous for great men's perms in Gwanggyo: "Yuwolae Mijangwon."

It had been almost two months since my last haircut, so I decided to visit a salon~ Actually I don't stick to one fixed salon — I tend to book same-day appointments wherever, depending on the day~

The Gwanggyo salon I visited today was located in SK View Lake Town!! The commercial facilities and the apartment complex are in separate spaces, so make sure you check carefully so you don't get confused!!

I visited on a Friday at 1pm and it was packed!! I had booked ahead too, but I really recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit!

Choosing the see-through shadow perm + side/back down perm

The service I got today was the see-through shadow perm, which a lot of guys prefer!! Honestly I'd been growing my hair out because I wanted a leaf-cut kind of look, so I got a shadow perm plus a down perm on the sides and back!!

Manager Somi handled the service, and before starting she recommended a style that would suit me well and eased the awkward atmosphere with a bit of small talk haha. She went in order: cut → shadow perm → down perm~

She knew exactly where to add texture and where to flatten it down — total professional, right?! Men's hair is all about the details, and she clearly knew all the key points. You could really tell it came from tons of experience, haha. There's a reason this place is famous~

Waiting area and interior

While getting my hair done I looked around the salon, and the interior really stood out! The waiting area was so cozy it felt almost like a fancy café haha. And there was a terrace too, though I couldn't get it in a photo — made the whole place feel really pleasant~

There was a dog around too, so I guess pets are allowed in?~ You should ask the salon directly about that haha. Just my speculation....lol

Anyway, once all that was done the heat treatment finished, so I moved over for a shampoo!!! Even after finishing the heat process, my scalp had no itchy or stinging feeling at all!!

The shampoo room had a clean, retro kind of vibe~ I was so eager to get my hair washed and see the final result~

They applied the neutralizer(?) and told me to lie back for a bit, so I took a shot with my eyes covered lol. They let it neutralize for about 2-3 minutes before shampooing~ haha, drumroll please

The result after about an hour

About an hour after starting the treatment, my hair was fully dried and the result was in!!

I was completely satisfied!!! Like, extremely~~~~~~~~ satisfied~~ My girlfriend said it looked pretty too. It was exactly the shadow perm style I wanted, and with the down perm on the back and sides my hair felt so much calmer and easier to style~!!! Manager Somi, who gave me this beautiful hair... thank you so much!!

Right before paying I noticed the counter had VIP prepaid membership plans too!! If you've settled on one salon you go to regularly, I think a prepaid package could be really useful haha.

I compared the before and after too, and yeah, the perm definitely added volume and looks great haha. If you live near Gwanggyo in Suwon, I really recommend "Yuwolae Mijangwon" for great men's perms — especially Manager Somi!!
