Nowon hair salon bob perm: Yeum Hair Nowon District Office

In short

Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch is a hair salon near Nowon Station and the Nowon District Office in Seoul. After a checklist-based consultation about my hair condition and maintenance concerns, I had a bob cut, perm, and fringe straightening. The waits during the service felt long, but I liked the lighter finished style and the detailed at-home drying advice.

How do you get there from Nowon Station?

My hair felt stuffy in the hot weather, so I went to Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch (예움헤어 노원구청점) for a cut and perm. It is on the second floor of a building at 447 Nohae-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul, near Nowon Station and the Nowon District Office.

I entered the building, took the elevator to the second floor, and found the salon right away.

The hours listed in the original post are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

What were the salon and waiting area like?

The interior was clean and white-toned. The counter was the first thing I saw when I entered.

The salon used a fixed-price system and had information about VIP memberships and membership passes. There was also a policy stating that if someone was dissatisfied after following their assigned designer’s service recommendation, they could receive the service again.

There was a desk-like area beside the entrance and a bench-style sofa on the other side for waiting or resting. Although I had made a Naver reservation, I arrived before 10 a.m. and sat in the waiting area briefly.

Nearby were hair products for sale, an air purifier, and plants. I looked at the plants while waiting, then was shown to my seat shortly after 10 a.m.

Could I get a consultation without choosing a style first?

I wanted a cut and perm but had not decided on a specific style. Before the service, the ends of my existing layered cut curled inward in a C shape.

When I said I wanted a style recommendation, I was given a checklist. I wrote down my hair condition, concerns, and the changes I wanted, then had a consultation based on it.

At first, I was recommended a layered C-curl perm, but I was told that because my hair already curled inward, I did not necessarily need a perm. Coloring was suggested too, but my hair was already quite damaged because of my habits, and I did not feel confident about root touch-ups or hair care. After the consultation, I decided on a bob cut and perm.

How did the bob cut and perm proceed?

I went to the shampoo room first. Its wood-toned space felt calm, and I was given a blanket when I sat down. They also checked the water temperature, so the shampoo felt comfortable.

Back at my seat, my hair was parted and brushed, and then I waited for a while. The difficulty of brushing it made the damage noticeable. After the bob cut, magic-setting solution was applied to my fringe and covered with plastic wrap.

The wait felt quite long at this point. I was asked whether I wanted a drink, so I requested an iced Americano.

I could drink coffee while looking outside, and the Wi-Fi was convenient to connect to directly by QR code.

About an hour later, the solution was rinsed out in the shampoo room. Back at my seat, perm solution was applied to un-dried hair, which was wound around dedicated rods and connected to a digital-perm machine. As I recall, the machine ran for about 10 minutes, and I waited around 40 to 50 minutes during this process.

This time, I asked for warm barley tea. I passed the time looking through the magazines in front of me.

Afterward, I was disconnected from the machine, the rods were removed, and my fringe was straightened with a hair iron. The service finished with a water-only rinse, without shampoo.

What was my first bob perm and at-home care like?

I was worried because it was my first bob perm, but I liked the finished look. Above all, I liked how much lighter my hair felt.

I wanted a style that was easy to maintain, suited my image, and would keep the perm for a long time. Right after the service, it felt like it had turned out in the direction I wanted. However, it is difficult to say from this experience alone how long the curls actually lasted.

I wondered why my hair was damaged even though I do not get perms or color it often, and it was helpful that they looked at my hair condition and explained it. They also explained at-home care and how to dry my hair in detail, which made maintenance much easier. I was told not to wash my hair for one or two days after the service, so I did not wash it for about two days.

The waiting time during the service felt long, but I liked being able to talk through my hair condition and the burden of maintenance before deciding on a style. Next time, I would like to try the layered C-curl perm that was recommended during the consultation.
