Yeonnam-dong tteokbokki with induction tables: Eungkeum Tteokbokki
In short
Eungkeum Tteokbokki Yeonnam Branch is a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) restaurant in an alley on Donggyo-ro in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo, Seoul, known for its graffiti-covered windows and tteokbokki pop art interior. One serving of eungkeum tteokbokki came with cheese and garak-guksu (thick wheat noodles) added plus tuna gimbap (seaweed rice roll), and because the steel table has a built-in induction burner, the cheese stayed stretchy to the last bite. It was quite spicy for anyone weak with heat, but the sweet, milky sauce is hard to forget.

Finding Eungkeum Tteokbokki Yeonnam Branch: a sign you can't miss
Eungkeum Tteokbokki Yeonnam Branch is a tteokbokki restaurant at 257-1 Donggyo-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The flashy sign was eye-catching even from outside 😃

The windows were covered in all kinds of cute graffiti. It brought back fresh old memories and made me feel really good knowing I was about to eat delicious tteokbokki 😂

I sat at a spot with a clear view of the entrance!! The weather was nice so everything looked even prettier.

Inside Eungkeum Tteokbokki Yeonnam Branch: tteokbokki pop art and induction tables
Inside, there were pop-art pieces made from tteokbokki motifs hanging on the walls, fun to look at ❤️🔥❤️🔥

Even the wallpaper was decorated to match the interior — so unique..

The tables were made of steel. An induction burner was built in, which was convenient.

I left my own mark on the window too. I wrote it next to Doraemon, can you see it ❤️🔥 So cute.. ㅜㅜ

One serving of eungkeum tteokbokki with cheese, plus tuna gimbap
At Eungkeum Tteokbokki Yeonnam Branch I ordered tuna gimbap (seaweed rice roll) and one serving of eungkeum tteokbokki with cheese added. The tuna gimbap portion was huge and packed with sauce. It tasted pretty ordinary on its own, but eating it alongside the tteokbokki made it taste even better — probably just my imagination, right? I think everyone knows what I mean.

I ordered one serving of eungkeum tteokbokki. To eat it properly I added cheese too, and it went so well with the sauce 😃😃 It was so spicy while eating that I wanted to order steamed egg too. I'm a total spice-wimp, so I think I cried through about 2 liters of runny nose haha. How about you all, can you handle spicy food well? Koreans are famous for being good with spicy food, but honestly I can't even handle buldak and end up crying over how spicy it is haha.

Wrapping the rice cake in fish cake brought out more texture and flavor 🫠 The rice cakes were super chewy — they're wheat rice cakes, so they went down easily!!

Thanks to the induction burner, the cheese never hardened and stayed gooey the whole time — I loved it ㅜㅜ The colors were genuinely insane. No filter at all, and I'm drooling all over again. This really feels like a must-eat tteokbokki spot in Yeonnam-dong.

Adding garak-guksu noodles and the free dumplings
I also added udon noodles, so maybe that's why I filled up fast haha. The udon noodles were genuinely so good, make sure to add them!!

They even gave us dumplings on the house, and eating them alongside the tteokbokki was pure honey..

Dunking them in the broth made them look even tastier, and I don't usually love dumplings that much, but I was surprised how well they matched eungkeum tteokbokki's signature sauce 💞

There's a receipt review event running too, so make sure to join and grab a free drink!!~

Is Eungkeum Tteokbokki Yeonnam Branch worth a second visit?
Even looking back, I want to eat this eungkeum tteokbokki again!! Truly a must-eat tteokbokki spot in Yeonnam-dong. I've checked out a lot of tteokbokki places, but this addictive, almost bewildering flavor really left an impression ㅜ It seems like people order Eungkeum Tteokbokki a ton for delivery too, not just dine-in. While I was eating, Baemin delivery notifications kept going off nonstop. They came so fast and so often it genuinely startled me!! Everyone, please come try this must-eat Yeonnam-dong tteokbokki ㅜㅜ I can't forget that milky, sweet sauce flavor!! The staff were kind too, so it's a place I'd want to visit again haha.
Why do you all love tteokbokki? For me it's the food I eat to relieve stress on hard days, so sometimes I find myself craving it. Everyone probably has different reasons for loving tteokbokki, but I think the one thing we all have in common is feeling happier after eating it 💞 Eating too much spicy food isn't great for your health, so please enjoy it in moderation, and on the days you really want it, indulge without holding back and be happy ❤️🔥
