Hanam Italian restaurant for pizza and Han River walks: Bokkeriu

In short

Bokkeriu is an Italian restaurant in Misari, Hanam, Gyeonggi, where a meal can lead straight into a Han River walk. We shared Diavolo pizza, seafood tomato pasta, myeongran (pollock roe) aglio e olio, and salad, then explored the picture-window seating and outdoor area. Verdict: a convenient choice for pairing an Italian meal with a riverside date.

What did the Diavolo pizza taste like?

🍕 When the food we ordered at Bokkeriu in Misari, Hanam arrived, the Diavolo pizza was placed right in the middle of the table. Its thick, puffed-up crust still showed traces of the wood-fired oven here and there, while ham, olives, tomatoes, and yellow bell peppers covered the cheese. Just the sight of this generously topped pizza looked appetizing. When I lifted a slice with the pizza server, the cheese stretched out in long strands, and there were large air pockets inside the cut dough. Tomato sauce and cheese spread broadly across the center, with savory ham joined by olives and vegetables. The edge also had that nutty flavor distinctive to wood-fired bread.

A slice of Diavolo pizza with stretching cheese

🧀 Once it was on my plate, a closer look revealed the browned surface and fluffy interior of the dough. I cut it into bite-sized pieces, eating cheese and ham together first, then adding olives and bell pepper to the next piece. The size and slicing worked well for two people to each take a slice. Individual plates, forks, and knives were set on the table, and the two kinds of pasta and salad arrived one after another beside us. With the Diavolo pizza in the center, we started our meal by picking sections with plenty of the toppings we wanted.

What comes in the seafood tomato pasta

Seafood tomato pasta with mussels and squid

🍝 The seafood tomato pasta, dressed in red sauce, came with mussels, squid, and shrimp. Several large squid rings showed through the black mussel shells, and tomatoes and finely chopped vegetables were mixed among the noodles. It was easy to see right away which ingredients filled the plate. As I twirled the pasta on a fork, tomato sauce clung evenly to its surface. The squid was prepared in rings, and the shrimp retained their plump shape. I removed the mussel meat from its shell and ate it with the noodles, while pieces of tomato added a refreshing note throughout.

Seafood tomato pasta noodles and ingredients

🦐 Eating squid with the noodles, then adding shrimp next, gave each bite a different texture. It was a pasta where the springy seafood and tomato acidity could be enjoyed together, and the scallions on top added fragrance. There were also several little pieces of vegetables in the sauce. The broad plate made it easy to move shells to one side and twirl the noodles comfortably. Sauce coated the pasta evenly, and every forkful brought up tomatoes and small ingredients along with it.

Adding lemon to the myeongran aglio e olio

Aglio e olio topped with pollock roe and lemon

🍋 The myeongran aglio e olio had pollock roe and finely chopped scallions over pale noodles, with a wedge of grilled lemon in the center. Cherry tomatoes and mushrooms sat among the pasta, and crumbled toppings covered the top. It was a dish for mixing a little pollock roe and the various ingredients into the oil-coated noodles. As I lifted the noodles high with a fork, oil and pollock roe lightly coated their surface. Mushrooms and pieces of garlic added a nutty flavor, while halved cherry tomatoes brought freshness. A gentle squeeze of lemon added a bright aroma, too.

Pollock roe aglio e olio with mushrooms and tomatoes

🍴 After twirling the noodles to coat them well in pollock roe, I ate them one at a time with mushrooms or tomatoes. This aglio e olio brought together savory pollock roe, garlic aroma, and the richness of oil, with scallions adding fragrance in between. Since the ingredients were finely divided, they were easy to gather onto a fork with the noodles. Its sauce was different from the tomato pasta we had first, making the two plates nice to alternate between. We tried coating bites with a little more roe, then picking up noodles near the lemon separately, changing the combinations within one plate.

Salad with cheese and nuts

A large bowl of salad with cheese and nuts

🥗 The salad came in a large bowl, with cherry tomatoes, nuts, croutons, and cheese piled over green leaves. White cheese was placed in several spots, alongside walnuts, almonds, and cashews. There was enough variety to serve vegetables, cheese, and nuts together in one helping. It was easy to use the tongs to put an even mix of ingredients on an individual plate. The cherry tomatoes were bite-sized, and the croutons added crunch. Nuts eaten with cheese brought out a deeper nuttiness, while the leafy greens were plentiful too.

🥜 After a few bites of pizza and pasta, we added salad to lighten up our palates. Soft cheese and crisp nuts created contrasting textures among the greens. Served in a large bowl, it was enough for two people to refill their individual plates several times. A small plate of pickles and bread were also set on the table. We tried cheese over the salad, then tomatoes with nuts, changing up the combinations little by little within the bowl.

Bokkeriu menu and drink choices

Menu listing pasta, pizza, and steak

📖 Opening the Bokkeriu menu at our table, we could look through salads, pasta, risotto, pizza, steak, and desserts in order. There was a weekday lunch set for two, along with steak sets listed separately by party size. The choices ranged from meals for two to dishes several people could order together. Pasta was priced in the low to mid ₩20,000s, while pizzas ranged from the ₩20,000s to under ₩30,000. Risotto and Korean beef striploin steak were listed separately, and Basque cheesecake and tiramisu were available after the meal.

Drinks menu with coffee and wine

☕ The drinks menu included Americano, latte, ade, tea, soft drinks, beer, and wine by the glass. One section of the menu was filled with choices to pair with food, from coffee to wine. Water glasses, wine glasses, and cutlery had already been set at the table. Ingredients were listed beneath menu names, making it easy to check the details before ordering. The first page also explained how the name Bokkeriu was created, so I read it slowly while waiting for the food.

Inside: picture windows and wooden tables

Bokkeriu interior with picture windows and wooden tables

🌿 While waiting for our food, I looked around the interior and found seating arranged along large picture windows. Wooden tables and rattan-style chairs filled several areas, with large and small potted plants throughout. Sunlight through the windows and the trees outside were visible broadly even from indoors. A long table for larger groups stood in the center, while bench seating was prepared near the walls. Walking along the curved wall made of glass blocks revealed a wooden display shelf holding wine bottles in several rows. There was also plenty of room to move between tables.

Interior with an open kitchen and wine display

🍷 Toward the open kitchen, we could see the prep counter and areas where plates and glasses were arranged. A low white partition and several plants were placed in a long line before the kitchen, separating it from the dining area. Wine bottles and warm orange pendant lights were also tucked farther inside. Table sizes ranged from two-person and four-person settings to tables for larger groups. From a window-side seat, trees and lawn were right in front of us; farther inside, we could inspect the glass blocks and wine display up close.

The space from the entrance to the upper floor

Entrance area with a glass-block wall and stairs

🪜 When we first entered the building, concrete walls and dark finishes came into view, along with a decoration made using wine bottles on one side. Going up the stairs, metal railings and glass-block walls continued upward, with lights installed along the way. The wide staircase let us move slowly and take in different corners of the interior. The bright upstairs space gradually came into view beyond the glass blocks. Climbing higher, the dark entrance area gave way to a dining zone with wooden furniture and a white ceiling. The stairs and wall materials also fit nicely into one frame for photos.

Upper floor with tables, plants, and wine display

🏺 On reaching the upper floor, tables, plants, and wine displays appeared in sequence. Concrete, wood, and glass were used throughout, giving each area a different look. A long bench and round tables sat along the wall, with pendant lights hanging overhead. Before starting our meal, we took a lap around the staircase area and captured photos from different angles. Outdoor light came in near the glass blocks, while the wine display side let us photograph bottles and wooden shelves together.

Bokkeriu parking

Bokkeriu parking around the building

🚗 Bokkeriu had a spacious parking area around the building. We could use both the area below the building and the outdoor ground-level section, where several cars were already parked. For a drive to Misari for a meal, parking could be taken care of in the same place. After getting out of the car, we walked below the building to the entrance. The Bokkeriu name was displayed prominently on the front, making the entrance easy to find, and the large building could be viewed from several angles.

Bokkeriu exterior and entrance area

🅿️ The distance from the parking spot to the entrance was fairly short. It was a convenient layout for visiting with several people or carrying things inside. Coming in from the surrounding road led directly to the vehicle area in front of the building. When planning a Misari drive and meal together, parking conditions are something to consider as well. Here, we parked on arrival and went into the restaurant, then moved to the outdoor area and riverside after eating.

From lawn seating to the Han River walking path

Wooden lawn tables and canopy outdoor seating

🌳 Outside the building, wooden tables and chairs sat on the lawn, with more seats under a white canopy. Many trees grew around the area, continuing the greenery we had seen through the indoor picture windows at closer range. There was plenty of space to head outside and take a walk right after the meal. Tables were spaced along the lawn's edge, and looking behind us brought the exterior and outdoor seating into one view. Tables for larger groups were also ready under the canopy, making outdoor seats a good option on suitable-weather days.

Han River walking path seen through trees

🌊 Walking a little farther through the trees brought us to the Han River, with apartments and mountains visible across the water. Along the path near the river, we could walk while looking at the Han River through the trees. Open spots by the water offered a wide view of the scenery on the other side. Large trees continued along the walking path, with glimpses of the river appearing between them. It was an easy distance for a short post-meal walk, and the two of us moved slowly while taking photos.

A Misari date with a meal and a walk for two

A shared meal of pizza, pasta, and salad

🍽️ At Bokkeriu that day, the two of us shared Diavolo pizza, seafood tomato pasta, myeongran aglio e olio, and salad. We served the pizza by the slice and alternated between the sauces and ingredients in the two pasta dishes. Each plate used different ingredients, so we could enjoy several flavors in one sitting. We added salad and pickles during the meal, with drinks alongside, and ate slowly. Trees were visible from our seat near the picture windows, and after eating, we spent time looking around the interior seating and wine display.

Space leading from lawn seating toward the Han River

🌿 Once outside, we passed the lawn seating and canopy and walked toward the Han River. Being able to park, eat, and continue to a riverside walk from the same place made it convenient for a Misari date course. We strolled slowly around while looking at the river and the view across it through the trees. If you are planning Italian food and a walk together in Misari, Hanam, it would be nice to allow plenty of time at Bokkeriu. After exploring indoors and heading outside, the lawn and trees continue on to a path near the Han River.
