A Dajji Hansang feast overlooking Gwangalli Beach
There are so many sashimi restaurants in Millak-dong near Gwangalli, but I found a truly delicious place for a course meal and had to tell you about it! The portions were generous for the price and the food tasted great too, so it was such a satisfying meal :-)

For parking, you can use the building lot, the Suyeon Park public parking lot right in front, or the Suyeon Children’s Park public parking lot!

Gwanganda Jjji, a Millak-dong favorite, was much bigger and roomier than I expected.

Even though we arrived right at opening on a weekday, we weren’t first in line..! It really is a Millak-dong favorite, haha. Luckily, one window seat was still open, so we got to sit there :-) Lucky!

Gwangalli and Gwangan Bridge stretch out beyond the refreshing floor-to-ceiling windows. Even if you are not at a window table, you can still enjoy plenty of ocean view~ The huge windows are the best! Maybe because the weather was so lovely on the day I visited, the Gwangan Bridge view felt especially crisp and refreshing. Come in the daytime for the open ocean view, or in the evening for a moodier Gwangan Bridge view—either way, you can dine with a wonderful view.
They also have several private rooms without an ocean view, which would be great for family gatherings or company dinners!

A Dajji Hansang course with more than 20 dishes
Gwanganda Jjji serves only one course menu, called Dajji Hansang. It is a Millak-dong favorite where you can sample more than 20 different dishes served course-style.

The fresh salad, tangy and pleasantly chewy dressed pufferfish skin, fresh shrimp roll, and sweet-tangy dressed raw fish were all so good.

The soy-marinated crab had absolutely zero fishiness. I love gejang (marinated crab), but because of that distinctive fishy note I usually prefer the spicy version... This had none of it and was so delicious! The crab was packed with meat, and it made me crave a bowl of rice, haha. The sweet, chewy cockle salad was delicious too, and I also loved the eel with its clean seasoning.

It would be a shame if the course were all seafood, right? There were plenty of warm dishes too. Scallops, grilled abalone, Korean pancake, and creamy shrimp gave the seafood course a nice balance! I liked them even more because they arrived freshly cooked and piping hot.
Ta-da—there was even ginseng! Ginseng in a seafood course, haha. What a bonus.

Fresh seafood, from live octopus to raw whelk
Next came another course of super-fresh seafood dishes.

The live octopus was nutty and chewy, while the abalone had that amazing crisp bite! They are both dishes I absolutely love, so I devoured them, haha. Even while eating, I could tell the freshness was on another level haha.

Raw shrimp, sea squirt, and raw whelk too! Since the shrimp were raw, the texture was seriously no joke... sweet and beautifully springy—

Ahh, I really love whelk, and this was so tender, sweet, and delicious ㅠㅠㅠ I ate it all by myself haha. I also love steamed whelk, but it was just as delicious raw ♥ The fresh sea squirt was the best too!

Assorted sashimi: flounder, red sea bream, olive flounder, and sea bass
Then the main dish arrived: assorted sashimi. The plating was so pretty and the portion was generous, so I was happy before I even took a bite.

Gwanganda Jjji’s fresh, generous assorted sashimi included flounder, red sea bream, olive flounder, and sea bass :-)

You can also enjoy it deliciously as sushi.

Fresh assorted sashimi eaten while looking out at that refreshing ocean view is simply love...♡

Since it was daytime, we ordered a light beer, and it came wonderfully chilled in a bucket full of ice! The food was already so tasty and satisfying, but serving the beer like this made the meal even better, haha. We had the sashimi as sushi, dipped it in ssamjang (savory soybean paste), and wrapped it in leafy ssam (wraps)—so many ways to enjoy this assorted sashimi course :-)

Finishing with spicy blue crab stew and abalone porridge
The final part of the course was spicy blue crab stew, braised fish, warm fried dishes, and abalone porridge. I was already full, but you know how warm foods with a different flavor profile from sashimi somehow keep going down so easily, right,,? Haha. The spicy stew, loaded with blue crab, felt like it really warmed and refreshed my stomach. After sashimi, spicy fish stew is a must—!!!
Once I had the warm abalone porridge, I was officially beyond full haha. It was mild and nutty, and wrapped up the meal so neatly :-) There was even a cute yakgwa (honey cookie) for dessert! Between the gorgeous Gwangalli and Gwangan Bridge views beyond the huge windows and the substantial seafood course, it was wonderful~ Of course the food tasted great, but more than anything, I loved how well the course was put together! With so many banchan-style side dishes, seafood, assorted sashimi, blue crab stew, and abalone porridge, we finished the meal happily with such a wide variety of delicious dishes for the price :-)
