My partner and I finally set up a lunch date, and I really wanted to go somewhere fancy for once and eat something fancy 😌 In my book, fancy food = food you eat with a fork and knife, so I went to [Mano di Chef], famous as a bisque pasta spot in Jamsil!

Inside Mano di Chef Jamsil: why wedding invitation gatherings book here
First off, the lighting inside wasn't harshly fluorescent at all, more of a soft, warm glow. Lighting usually sets the whole mood of a place, and this one matched today's fancy date theme perfectly 😌

The interior is made up of a spacious hall and private rooms, and overwhelmingly the group tables were all women — almost 100% looked like they were in the middle of a wedding invite meetup?! With its nice atmosphere, moderately high prices, and group seating in both the hall and rooms, it felt perfectly set up for that kind of gathering. Of course, couples like us and families were there too 〜
Mano di Chef Jamsil menu, prices and wine list

There's a wide range of dishes — steak, lobster, salads, pasta, gnocchi, risotto, pizza, and more. There were so many options I couldn't decide, but thankfully ✨ the best menu items are marked separately!!

The wine list is also varied, with white, red, and champagne & sparkling options. Even though it was lunchtime, plenty of people were pairing their meal with wine. ✅ Free corkage for up to 2 bottles with orders over ₩100,000
Our order: gamtae pesto and octopus gnocchi, grilled chicken Caesar salad
We ordered the gamtae pesto & octopus gnocchi for ₩31,900 and the grilled chicken Caesar salad for ₩21,900. Since it's famous as a bisque pasta place in Jamsil, I thought about ordering pasta, but somehow the gnocchi felt more date-appropriate(!), so I went with the gamtae pesto & octopus gnocchi, one of the best-menu picks. For my partner who's been dieting hard, I chose the grilled chicken Caesar salad with chicken breast as a side dish!
Grilled chicken Caesar salad, 21,900 won

Fresh romaine lettuce with grilled chicken breast and a savory dressing — Mano di Chef's signature salad!

There was a generous amount of croutons too, and I loved that they grated Parmesan cheese right on top!! It really brought out more flavor in what could otherwise be a somewhat plain salad 〜

There was so much romaine that no matter how much we scooped up, it just kept refilling itself — a magic salad haha. The salty flavor from the dressing and cheese was right up my salty-loving alley!! I expected the chicken breast to be dry, but it was seasoned just right and grilled so it stayed moist and tender — even I, who usually hates dry chicken breast, enjoyed it thoroughly 👏
Gamtae pesto and octopus gnocchi, 31,900 won

Gnocchi packed with flavor, topped with a gamtae (seaweed) pesto sauce made with special gorgonzola and tender octopus!! The look of it is insane,, ✨

Snapped a photo of both dishes together. They say green food is supposed to be less appetizing, but why does it look even more delicious to me(?) Green green 〜 so cute 〜
The thickness was just right! Usually the green base for this kind of gnocchi is basil pesto, but this was my first time trying gamtae pesto. Surprisingly, it went really well with the gnocchi!! The moment it hit my mouth, the sea aroma of the gamtae spread all through my mouth, joined by the salty savoriness of the octopus — the flavor was amazing 👍

The gamtae pesto wasn't watery at all — it had a bit of texture to it, which I actually liked more. The octopus, which I thought would be tough, was completely tender even when I bit through it whole without cutting it. I usually hate root vegetables, but the potatoes in here were seriously delicious 🥹 I ate every single one haha.
Is Mano di Chef Jamsil a good lunch date spot? Final verdict
[Mano di Chef], the Jamsil restaurant I visited for an atmospheric lunch date! From the interior lighting alone it radiates date-core energy, and it works for dates, work dinners, gatherings, and general dining out — I even found myself thinking I'll have my own wedding invite meetup here someday..(?) Both dishes I picked were delicious, and I also really appreciated how staff kept coming around to carefully check on our table throughout the meal. This has been my review of [Mano di Chef], a place I'd love to come back to and try other dishes :)

- ✅ Also great for wedding invite meetups or blind dates
