The Jamsil spot for blind dates and wedding invite meetups: Mano di Chef Jamsil.

When you search for good blind-date restaurants in Jamsil, you end up circling back to the same handful of Italian restaurant names. For a blind date or wedding invite meetup, you can't just go to a cheap-and-cheerful pasta place — I wanted somewhere with real atmosphere AND food that actually delivers.

You'd think a high price just means you're paying for the vibe... but Mano di Chef Jamsil was different! I first went with my husband's friends for a wedding invite meetup, then booked again for a weekend date with my husband 🩷

From private rooms to a spacious, comfortable hall that fits up to 100 people, there's a real reason this place keeps coming up as a gathering spot around Jamsil. Plus, since it's in the Coupang building, the parking lot is relatively empty on weekends, so parking is easy — and it's free!
Why I booked Mano di Chef Jamsil again
Short version: nothing we ate at the first wedding invite meetup was a miss. That gathering was really about conversation, not food, but every dish that day stuck in my memory. Usually a meetup venue is a success if it's just 'fine' — this place went well beyond fine.
I went back last Saturday, booking a 12:30pm lunch slot through Naver Reservation. Last time the hall was packed, so I reserved again just in case — but this time it was actually pretty relaxed.

There was a seasonal 'Carrot Table' banner at the entrance — turned out to be a promotion for a new menu using carrot purée!
Interior atmosphere and the 8-person private room
Bottom line: Mano di Chef Jamsil has an 8-person private room, so if you want a private space, it's worth booking ahead.

A big chandelier hangs from the ceiling, and the arched walls have a brick finish, so despite being in the basement, it never feels stuffy. That day there were several three-generation family tables and quite a few tables of four women. The lighting isn't too bright for a blind date either, and the tables are spaced generously enough that nearby conversations weren't distracting.

That's probably why it keeps getting recommended as a blind-date and wedding invite meetup spot in Jamsil! I actually had my own wedding invite meetup here too! That said, since the hall is large, it can get noisy once it fills up — if quiet conversation is your priority, the room is definitely the better choice.
Recommended menu at Mano di Chef Jamsil

Steak Pizza — ₩36,900

No hesitation ordering the same steak pizza (₩36,900) as last time — it was that good. This is the signature pizza here, made with squid-ink dough, so the crust is black. On top goes 150g of grilled steak, romaine, cherry tomatoes, and a whole wedge of Grana Padano cheese,

and you can visibly tell they didn't skimp on quality ingredients!

Pick up a slice and the meat practically slides off, but the texture isn't dry at all — it's juicy. You bite in and get the meat juices first, followed by the salty finish of the Grana Padano. The romaine adds crunch, so even sharing a whole pizza between two people, we didn't get sick of it.

Honestly, this place is more known for its pasta, but I really want to say: you have to order the steak pizza too!!
Premium Tomato Seafood Pasta — ₩28,900

The seafood pasta at Mano di Chef Jamsil comes loaded with mussels, clams, squid, and shrimp — four kinds of seafood — piled so high you can't even see the noodles underneath!

I went back and forth between pasta and gnocchi and landed on the premium tomato seafood pasta (₩28,900). The moment the plate arrived, the mussel shells were practically spilling off the edge.

The shrimp are big and firm-fleshed. There's zero off-putting seafood smell, so you can immediately tell the ingredients are fresh. The tomato sauce is apparently made from scratch — it doesn't taste too acidic, and once the seafood broth mixes in it finishes with real umami. Genuinely delicious!!

Finding a place that does tomato pasta well has honestly been surprisingly hard lately, but this one really nails it. Mano di Chef earns its Blue Ribbon reputation 🩷

They gave us a separate bowl for shells, which made eating a lot easier.
₩65,800 for two, and the coupon we just missed
Between the two of us, one pizza and one pasta came to ₩65,800. For a casual Italian restaurant, that's not exactly cheap, but the taste and atmosphere justify the price enough that I'd happily go back — highly recommend.
But here's what actually stung. If you add Mano di Chef on KakaoTalk, they send out event coupons pretty often, and there was one for a free gnocchi with orders over ₩70,000!

We were ₩4,200 short. Ordering one more salad would've easily covered it, but realistically two people can only eat so much food! I really wanted to try the gnocchi made with the chef's own carrot purée — next time I'll go with family or friends, order more dishes, and taste everything at least once!
Before you go, add their KakaoTalk channel, and when you order, do a quick tally of your total. That one calculation can be the difference of a ₩30,000 menu item — definitely worth checking!
