In short

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch is a Korean BBQ dining restaurant in the Bangi-dong restaurant alley in Songpa, Seoul, near Seokchon Lake and Songpa Naru Station, occupying a whole building. For a dinner honoring important guests, the writer ordered the 550g Korean pork combo (knife-cut pork belly, whole pork neck, pork skirt), mungtigi-style hanwoo yukhoe (raw beef tartare) and cheonggukjang doenjang stew, with a grilling master cooking everything tableside from start to finish. Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch is a solid pick for a year-end work dinner or a client meeting, when the choice of restaurant really matters.

Land, sea, and everything in between. Korean pork, hanwoo beef, raw fish, stew. And the signature Shrek Galbi.

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch felt like it'd be perfect for a Seokchon Lake work dinner or a Jamsil year-end gathering.

Why Yukmong Bangi for a dinner with important guests?

If you want to give good people a proper welcome

I love Korean BBQ, but the smoke and noisy atmosphere are always a worry. There was a relationship I needed to make a good impression on, haha. So not just the taste but the space and service mattered too.

Yukmong Bangi just wrapped its soft opening and started official operations. Being newly opened, the interior is clean and modern. Let's take a look...

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch location and opening hours

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch is at 9-13 Ogeum-ro 15-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, in the Bangi-dong restaurant alley. The store runs from basement level 1 up to the 2nd floor.

It's open daily from 12:00 to 24:00, with a break time on weekdays from 15:00 to 17:00. Naver Reservation is available, so if you're planning a group meal, book ahead. Also check the operating hours and room conditions for your visit date!

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch runs an entire building, from basement level 2 up to the 2nd floor, as one Korean BBQ restaurant. The 1st and 2nd floors already feel plenty upscale, but the basement rooms — set apart from the general seating — are especially comfortable.

With a grilling master doing the cooking, the flavor of good meat stays intact. The smoke clears immediately too, so barely any smell lingers on your clothes.

The 550g Korean pork combo and tableside grilling-master service

Side dishes and meat plated as neatly as a hanjeongsik (Korean full-course) spread. Plus the fun of hearing the passionate owner's stories.

What we ordered that day was the 550g Korean pork combo — knife-cut pork belly, whole pork neck, and pork skirt — plus hanwoo yukhoe (raw beef tartare).

Condiments for the meat, including yuja-ginger pickle and jeotgal

The condiments were yuja-ginger pickle, salt, ssamjang, wasabi, special doenjang sauce, and jeotgal (salted seafood). Even the same meat tastes different depending on what you pair it with. For my taste, the jeotgal was especially good — the savory pork with the salty umami of jeotgal, such a great combo, yum.

For a meal where you're hosting someone, this kind of attentive service really boosts satisfaction. Also loved that the sliced garlic is soaked in the special sauce and cooked without burning.

Mungtigi-style hanwoo yukhoe (raw beef tartare)

The yukhoe we had together was mungtigi-style. Enjoying grilled Korean pork and beef in one sitting was really satisfying. It has a different texture and beefy aroma from the grilled meat, making the meal even more varied. If you're visiting with meat-loving friends, there's plenty of fun to be had picking the menu.

Sides: cheonggukjang doenjang stew and the banchan lineup

The savory cheonggukjang doenjang stew (fermented soybean stew) — with naengi (shepherd's purse) in winter, chives or scallions in summer — is genuinely delicious, good enough to sell as a standalone dish. It's packed with squash, tofu, and onion. At the bottom of the pot was a big chunk of radish.

The owner's special mala cucumber salad and dried radish

The banchan (side dishes) were japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seasoned crab, spicy mala cucumber salad, and dried radish — good for nibbling while waiting for the meat, and good to alternate with the meat too. The table feels generous from the very first spread.

The staff member grilling the meat shared some stories, saying the mala cucumber salad is the owner's own special recipe, and that he's the researcher type who keeps trying different things to make tasty food. As staff, it's a bit impressive but also means having to relearn the menu often, apparently. I'd love to come back a few times, try every cut, and watch the sides change over time.

Verdict: is Yukmong Bangi right for a year-end or client dinner?

Standout size and upscale atmosphere among Bangi-dong's Korean BBQ restaurants — a premium meat dining spot capable of proper hospitality

Yukmong gave the impression of careful attention to meat quality, atmosphere, and staff service all at once. If you want to pair delicious meat with a comfortable meal for an occasion like a year-end dinner or a client meeting — one where picking the right restaurant really matters — this is the place.

I was grateful to be able to host someone special in such a good setting. Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch.
