Spicy jjajang and eohyang eggplant shrimp in a room at Baoro China

In short

Baoro China Sadang Branch is a 110-seat Chinese restaurant with private rooms, one minute from Exit 12 of Sadang Station in Seocho, Seoul. The spicy gochu-jjajang (chili black bean noodles) and eohyang eggplant shrimp made a great combo, rich with savory eohyang sauce and a spicy kick, and the quiet private room made it easy to use for group meetings. How the gochu-jjajang and eohyang eggplant shrimp tasted

Table setting with vinegar, soy sauce, and chili powder

Vinegar, soy sauce, chili powder — everything neatly set out at the table, love that ><

What I tried at Baoro China Sadang Branch was the gochu-jjajang and the eohyang eggplant shrimp~~ Great combo, both really tasty, so I'd definitely recommend ordering both!!

Eohyang eggplant shrimp

Eohyang eggplant shrimp lets you enjoy eggplant and shrimp together, so I ordered it right away haha It has a different kind of appeal from typical Chinese dishes!!

Eohyang eggplant shrimp coated in sauce

Plump shrimp and soft eggplant come together with the eohyang sauce for a deep, rich flavor~~ The shrimp has a springy bite, and the eggplant soaks up the sauce, so it was fun getting both textures at once (●'◡'●)

The signature savory depth of the eohyang sauce blends nicely with a slight kick of spice, so it works well as a drinking snack too haha It also goes fine alongside a regular meal 🤤

Gochu-jjajang topped with a fried egg

Gochu-jjajang

I usually like jjajangmyeon, but I lean toward something spicier and sharper, so I was curious about the gochu-jjajang and ordered it~~ It comes topped with a fried egg too

Noodles tossed with the glossy jjajang sauce

The glossy jjajang sauce coats the noodles evenly all over~~ It's spicier than regular jjajangmyeon, so it's easy to eat without feeling heavy haha The sweet, nutty base flavor of the jjajang comes through first, with the chili's heat rising up right after, so I kept going back for more with my chopsticks ㅋㅋㅋ

A spicy bite of gochu-jjajang

Thanks to the spice, the gochu-jjajang wasn't heavy and felt pretty clean to eat~~ If you love spicy food and jjajangmyeon, this is an absolute recommendation haha Baoro China, a Sadang restaurant with even private rooms — who knew both the meals and the dishes could be this good~~~

Add a bit more chili powder to suit your taste and the whole bowl disappears in no time (●ˇ∀ˇ●) A great Chinese restaurant near Sadang Station where you can enjoy both hearty meals and a range of Chinese dishes — the gochu-jjajang and eohyang eggplant shrimp were so good, I'd recommend ordering them together~~
