A European restaurant after a Dalmaji Hill drive

The weather had finally turned cool again, so I went for a drive up Dalmaji Hill to get some night air. Haeundae's Dalmaji Hill is great for enjoying the surroundings while driving, and with plenty of places to eat, it makes a lovely dinner-date route.

That day, I stopped by Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, a European restaurant on Dalmaji Hill. With a range of Western dishes including pasta, pizza, risotto, and steak, it felt like a nice place for a brunch-style lunch, while the evening atmosphere suited a date or get-together too.

Outside location with basement parking

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is on Dalmaji-gil 117beon-na-gil, and there is also a Chinese restaurant in the same building. I want to try that Chinese restaurant next time too. Its interior looks very upscale, so I have high expectations.

I came by car, and being able to use the building's basement parking meant one less thing to worry about. Dalmaji Hill is a great area to stop by while driving, but parking can sometimes be on your mind, so the convenient car access was another plus.

A quiet, comfortable dining room at 8 PM

Once inside, it felt more upscale and polished than I had expected from the outside. The European-style interior and soft lighting made for an overall comfortable atmosphere.

I visited at around 8 PM, and there were not many diners, so I was actually able to enjoy a quiet meal. I thought it would work well not only for a date, but also for a family meal or a relaxed dining gathering.

What came in the Couple Dish Set

The menu I ordered that day was the Bueokgan Couple Dish Set.

I liked that this set lets two people try several dishes at once. The à la carte menu also includes basil pesto cream pasta, pepperoni pizza, and sweet pumpkin soup, along with a wide selection of pasta, pizza, risotto, and steak.

The basil pesto cream pasta was the standout

First, I liked that the sweet pumpkin soup was not as sweet as I expected. It was smooth and easy on the stomach, so it made a light, comfortable first course.

Personally, though, the basil pesto cream pasta was the dish that impressed me most. The fragrant basil pesto complemented the creamy richness, and it was far more delicious than I had expected. After trying it, I was satisfied enough to think, “This is really good.”

The pepperoni pizza had a savory crust that went nicely with the salty pepperoni. It did not feel as heavy as a thick-crust pizza, making it a good match for the pasta.

Since it was nighttime, coffee felt like a bit much, so I ordered grapefruit juice and orange juice. They had the feel of fresh fruit juice and went well with the meal.

Generous portions and pizza to go

The Couple Dish Set was more generous than I expected. It was enough for two people, so we had a little food left, but the staff kindly packed up the remaining pizza for us to take home. Beyond the food itself, that small service made the meal feel especially comfortable.

Wrapping up my visit

This was a good Haeundae Western restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and convenient basement parking for drivers. It was a nice stop on a Haeundae date route with a Dalmaji Hill drive, and Bueokgan Haeundae Branch made for a comfortable meal with kind service and especially satisfying pasta.
