Haeundae restaurant for carbonara and arugula pizza: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a European restaurant on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. My friends and I ordered the Bueokgan Couple Dish with squash soup, mushroom green salad, carbonara, and two orange juices, then added arugula pizza with jalapeño sauce. Verdict: the rich carbonara and clean-tasting arugula pizza were a great match.

I was craving pasta in Haeundae, so I looked around the Dalmaji area. My friends and I unanimously agreed that Bueokgan Haeundae Branch sounded great, so we went!

Bueokgan Haeundae location and parking
Follow the uphill road from Dongbaek Elementary School and you’ll find the Bueokgan restaurant on the second floor of the former Sansutang site, in front of Hillstate Weave.

There are four parking spaces beside the Bueokgan building, or you can use the underground parking lot behind it.

A European restaurant alongside a bakery
Bueokgan Haeundae is a mixed food-and-beverage space where a bakery, restaurant, and Chinese restaurant operate together. The place we visited today was the European restaurant on the second floor.

Bueokgan’s signature feature: these pretty, atmospheric semicircular tables! I loved how the lush green view through the windows made the room feel open and refreshing.

I heard the interior was styled with vintage furniture and assorted decorative pieces like those displayed in hotels. All the vintage furniture and props were directly imported from the UK, France, and Italy, while the Haeundae Branch chairs are TON chairs from the Czech Republic and Vitra pieces. I own one Vitra item too, and I agonized over buying it because it was so expensive—wow, Bueokgan is impressive 👏

A kid-friendly zone that’s great with children
The restaurant has a kids’ zone, with high chairs and children’s tableware all nicely prepared, making it an easy place for families to dine. I even saw reviews saying that kids eat really well at Bueokgan haha.

For the two drinks included with the set, we chose two orange juices 🍊 They had little bits of orange pulp to chew on!
Sweet and creamy squash soup
The presentation made me happy the moment it arrived 😍 I could gently smell the squash even before tasting it, and it suited the distinctive atmosphere of a European restaurant so well!

The squash’s naturally sweet flavor and the creamy texture were both so good!! Maybe squash is especially sweet these days, but it was seriously, seriously delicious 💛💛

Green salad loaded with mushrooms
A salad bringing together assorted vegetables, cheese, and mushrooms 🥗 Unlike mushroom salads at other restaurants, I was surprised by how many mushrooms were tucked underneath. The dressing was bright and tangy, with a strong smoky aroma, so it was rich and delicious.

Carbonara mixed with a poached egg
It looked rich and thick from the start, with bacon’s savory saltiness and a gentle pepper aroma! We broke the poached egg in the center of the pasta and mixed it through. It blended beautifully with the soft noodles, doubling the nutty richness without becoming heavy—so, so delicious ❤️

Arugula and prosciutto pizza
This pizza came topped with fresh arugula and salty prosciutto, blanketed with cheese, and the crust was baked crisp 🍕

The grassy aroma and lightly bitter edge of the arugula cut through the richness, while the prosciutto’s savory depth became more harmonious with every bite.

If you want a clean-tasting pizza with none of that heavy richness, definitely choose the arugula pizza ✔️ The ingredients were a perfect collaboration 🍕

And then there was this jalapeño sauce I’d never seen before 💚 At first I thought, “It doesn’t seem like hot sauce—what is it?” Then I tried it on the pizza. I started with little drizzles, but by the end I was pouring it on generously haha 😝
