Bucheon naengmyeon and kimchi mandu set near Kkachiul Station: Hanchon

While looking for a Korean restaurant near Kkachiul Station, I stopped by Hanchon Seolleongtang in Bucheon's Kkachiul area, a chain with branches in several regions. It had been a while since I'd had seolleongtang (ox bone soup), so I was looking forward to it. Here's my review after visiting Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul in person.

Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch serves seolleongtang along with other hearty Korean dishes good for boosting energy, like doganitang (ox knee cartilage soup), sogomeori gomtang (ox head bone soup), and yang gomtang (tripe soup). In summer, they also have cool naengmyeon and samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), so there was plenty to choose from depending on your taste.

The convenient parking was a huge plus. It fits up to 23 cars at once, and there's staff on hand to help you in and out without any hassle.

Solo meal or big group: inside the 2nd-floor hall

The interior was spacious and clean overall. It's fine to come alone, and there's plenty of seating for 2 or 4 people, plus enough room for group parties.

On one side, there's a rice cooker set up for extra servings, along with side condiments you can add according to taste.

The menu includes regular seolleongtang, spicy seolleongtang, doganitang, and various other dishes, plus samgyetang and naengmyeon in peak summer. Prices weren't too heavy on the wallet either, so it was easy to keep the meal casual.

Teuk-seolleongtang with rice served separately

I wanted a seolleongtang loaded with meat, so I ordered the teuk-seolleongtang (special/premium version) instead of the regular one. The scallions were generous and the meat was piled high, so it felt like a filling meal.

The broth was clear and not too salty, so it was light and easy to eat, and it came with a proper amount of somyeon (thin wheat noodles) inside too, making it a satisfying meal. While eating, I got curious about the spicy version, and from a video playing inside the restaurant, it looked kind of like yukgaejang (spicy beef soup). I'll save that for next time.

Mul-naengmyeon with two kimchi mandu on the last day of naengmyeon season

My companion ordered the mul-naengmyeon and kimchi mandu (2pc) set. It happened to be the very last day naengmyeon was on the menu, and I was glad there was a set that came with 2 pieces of mandu (dumplings).

The naengmyeon broth was tangy and refreshing, packed with slushy ice, perfect for a hot day. The noodles had a nice chewy texture too, and it was delicious.
