I was craving a warm soup dish around Bucheon's Ojeong-gu, so I went to Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch. A steaming bowl of seolleongtang (ox bone soup) with mandu (dumplings) on the side was plenty filling — a good pick if you're looking for a Kkachiul Station restaurant nearby.

Especially on chilly days or whenever I want warm soup, this is the kind of place that makes you want to walk in just passing by, haha. It seemed like a good candidate to keep in mind for solo meals or family dinners near Kkachiul Station.

A hall that takes 30–40 people: is it comfortable for solo diners too?
The interior of Hanchon Seolleongtang Kkachiul Station Branch was spacious enough to easily accommodate reservations for 30 to 40 people. Going inside, the place was clean overall, and the tables weren't packed too tightly, so it felt comfortable whether you came alone for a bowl of seolleongtang or with family.
And rice refills are available, which is great. At a seolleongtang restaurant, a relaxed, easy atmosphere matters a lot, and it wasn't too loud or chaotic here — I liked that.

What we ordered: basic seolleongtang and three kimchi mandu
The signature dish at Hanchon Seolleongtang Kkachiul Station Branch is, of course, seolleongtang. Besides seolleongtang, there are other dishes to choose from depending on your taste, and mandu on the side is great to add when one bowl feels like just a little too little.
We ordered the most basic seolleongtang along with the small kimchi mandu (3 pieces). If you're here for seolleongtang, you have to try the basic version first!

The side dishes: kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) and cabbage kimchi
Kimchi is essential with seolleongtang. Since the broth itself is mild, eating a bite of kimchi in between really brings the flavor to life.
Crunchy, spicy diced radish kimchi and napa cabbage kimchi. Paired with the seolleongtang, they went together cleanly, and it became an endless cycle of a spoonful of broth, a bite of kimchi, then another spoonful of broth. At a seolleongtang restaurant, the kimchi matters just as much as the main dish, and it was great to eat alongside it here.
How does the seolleongtang broth at Hanchon taste?
The seolleongtang finally arrived! Just looking at the milky-white broth felt warm and filling. I tried the broth first, and it wasn't overly heavy or greasy — mild and easy to eat without any burden. You can season it to your taste, and adding scallions made the broth feel even cleaner.

The meat inside was good eaten together with the broth, and mixing rice into it made for a proper full meal. Personally, with seolleongtang, I think a comforting flavor that keeps you reaching for your spoon matters more than a bold, intense taste, and it was satisfying on that front. Topping the rice with a piece of kimchi was delicious too, and finishing it off with a spoonful of broth warmed me right up inside.

Kimchi mandu small size: the right amount to share with seolleongtang
We also ordered kimchi mandu (dumplings) since seolleongtang alone felt like it might be a little lacking. The small size comes with 3 pieces, which was just the right amount to have alongside the seolleongtang.

The mandu skin was packed full of kimchi filling, and one bite brought a spicy kick — but not so spicy that it overwhelmed things, more like a nice change of pace amid the mild seolleongtang flavor. It was worth ordering alongside the soup. Taking a sip of the mild broth, then a bite of kimchi mandu, made for a really nice combination.

That was a good meal today :) Hanchon Seolleongtang Kkachiul Station Branch was a solid choice when I wanted a warm, filling meal in Bucheon's Ojeong-gu.
