Bucheon Chinese restaurant with a black rice self-bar: Jjambbong Jijon
In short
Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch is a jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and jjajang Chinese restaurant on Jungdong-ro in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon. The order was soft tofu jjamppong rice, Jijon jjajang and Jijon sweet and sour pork (small), with black rice, kimchi, onion and bean sprouts from the self-bar, and jjajangmyeon was 7,000 won during the visit to mark the restaurant's 5th anniversary. There's a really delicious jjamppong place in Sinjung-dong! It's Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch.

What I ordered Jijon jjajang Jijon sweet and sour pork Soft tofu jjamppong rice

What's on the self-bar at Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch?
At this Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot you can use a self-bar! There's a big rice cooker with black rice made from healthy new-crop rice. Since I love black rice, this was such a satisfying point for me.

Various tableware, kimchi, onions, beansprouts and more are all prepared at the self-bar, so after ordering, just come grab as much as you need while you wait! What I really thought was a nice touch was that they even had hair ties on hand. This Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot really shows consideration for its guests.

Where to park at Jjambbong Jijon in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon
For parking at this Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot, you can use the public parking lot free for 1 hour with a purchase! After 1 hour, ₩400 is charged per 10 minutes, so if you're driving, keep that in mind.

Soft tofu jjamppong rice: savoury broth that isn't spicy-hot
Soft tofu jjamppong rice is jjamppong rice with soft tofu and seafood. It was the dish I loved so much on my visit last year that I'd already decided on soft tofu jjamppong rice in my mind before even coming to this Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot haha. It's hearty but not aggressively spicy, so I felt comfortable in my stomach afterward.

It came with black rice, and instead of noodles you get protein from the soft tofu! If you want jjamppong even while watching your diet, don't hesitate — try the soft tofu jjamppong rice at this Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot.

Jijon jjajang at 7,000 won for the 5th anniversary
Jijon jjajang has the look and taste that reminds me of old-school jjajangmyeon. When I visited, jjajangmyeon was on sale for ₩7,000 to mark this Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot's 5th anniversary!

It'd been such a long time since I had jjajangmyeon, and the jjajang sauce was so delicious!

I prefer rice to noodles, so I made it into jjajang rice and it was really delicious haha.

Jijon sweet and sour pork (small): sauce on the side on request
Jijon sweet and sour pork (small) is the chef's recommended dish — crispy and savory.

You can have the sauce poured over or ask for it separately — I like to dip, so I asked for the sauce on the side!

The pork itself is so good that it's tasty even without sauce,

and it's also really delicious paired with the onions and sauce that come alongside!

The Jijon sweet and sour pork also came with two pieces of fried sweet potato, and my husband said they were really delicious!

Sweet and sour pork with soft tofu jjamppong rice: how they taste together
Eating the sweet and sour pork and then having a bite of the hearty soft tofu jjamppong makes such a great combination! Last time too I visited this Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot on a rainy day, and this time I came on a slightly overcast day again — maybe that's why the jjamppong felt even more delicious.

The soft tofu jjamppong rice at this Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot has a hearty-feeling broth but isn't actually spicy hot, so it's perfect for people who can't handle spicy food!

The broth isn't harsh, so it's tasty just spooned up, and it's also really good poured over the black rice that comes with it!

There's also quite a lot of seafood in it, so eating it together gives a nice chewy texture too!

The quail eggs in the soft tofu jjamppong really go well with it!! I wish there were like 5 more haha.

If you're looking for a jjamppong and jjajangmyeon Chinese restaurant in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon, I recommend this Sinjung-dong jjamppong spot — the food is delicious of course, and you can even have drinks and coffee after your meal!
