450g three-cut Iberico set at a Busan pork restaurant: Jukrim Sutbul
In short
Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is a charcoal-grilled Iberico pork restaurant on Gwangnam-ro in Suyeong, Busan, a 5-minute walk from Geumnyeonsan Station on Line 2. The writer ordered the Iberico set (three cuts, 450g, with doenjang sulbap, soybean paste rice) for about 63,000 won, and staff grilled the pluma, cheek meat and rib meat in that order, finishing with the soybean paste rice with beef brisket before an extra order of pluma. Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is a good choice when the usual pork belly and pork neck start to feel boring.

Today I'm here to share a review of a visit to what people say is a really delicious Iberico pork restaurant in Gwangalli, Busan! I don't actually eat Iberico that often, so I went in with high expectations!

Where is Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui, and where do you park?
Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is on the 1st floor at 71 Gwangnam-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan, and you can get there within a 5-minute walk from Geumnyeonsan Station on Busan Line 2! We drove, and since there didn't seem to be dedicated parking support, we parked nearby and walked over!

We visited with a reservation, but it seemed like walk-ins would be fine too. The interior was on the darker side, and unlike a typical Korean BBQ place, it had an upscale feel!

The grill plate had such an interesting shape. Is that... stone?

We were served barley tea for water, and honestly I much prefer places that serve barley tea or roasted grain tea over just plain bottled water ㅠㅠ It just feels so much more thoughtful and delicious...

What are the side dishes like at Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui?
Barley tea as the house drink
After we sat down and ordered, they brought out the basic side dishes right away! Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui's side dishes also felt a bit more thoughtfully prepared than what we're usually served at BBQ restaurants. That said, since we're the type who like Korean-style eating — wrapping meat in lettuce with garlic, chili, and ssamjang — this was a little disappointing in that regard?! If you want a neat, clean meal, or if you've got an important dinner coming up, this place seems perfect for that haha.

The bathroom is inside the restaurant. It's on the small and narrow side, but it was kept clean and well-maintained, so it was comfortable to use!!

When I got back from the bathroom, they had already lit the fire and set out garlic and jjeokguk (bone broth) alongside. I was so excited to see how delicious Iberico grilled over real charcoal would be!!

What's in the 450g Iberico set, and how much is it?
The meat we ordered arrived looking so pretty... ah, we ordered the Iberico set menu! It comes with three different cuts, 450g plus soybean paste rice included, and I think the price was around ₩63,000! I remember the regular pork set also came with 450g and soybean paste stew for around ₩50,000! I'd like to come back and try the regular pork next time haha.

Staff grill the Iberico at your table
At Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui you don't need to grill the meat yourself — the staff grill it for you! They first laid down some fat to oil the grill plate before cooking. I'm so, so happy that more and more BBQ restaurants are doing the grilling for you these days...

Once the grill plate was properly heated, they arranged the meat and various vegetables beautifully and grilled everything quickly! The meat had such a nice color that just looking at it made my mouth water 😵

Pluma, then cheek meat, then rib meat
The meat was grilled in the order of pluma, cheek meat (akeosal), then rib meat, and for each cut they kindly explained the best way to eat it and what combinations worked, which made it even more delicious! My sister loved the pluma so much and kept eating it. As for me, I think I liked the cheek meat more — that slightly chewy texture with a richer, fattier flavor was more to my taste haha.

And the basic side dishes paired with the Iberico better than I expected, and were just the right amount. With cuts we eat often like pork belly or pork neck, there's a fun way of grilling kimchi and wrapping everything up and devouring it, but eating each cut this way, savoring it one at a time, this kind of neat side dish lineup was pretty great too!

Finishing with beef brisket doenjang sulbap
Around the time we'd finished most of the meat, the soybean paste rice came out, with beef brisket mixed in — rich and nutty, just outstanding... There seemed to be about 1.5 servings of rice in there, so it was plenty to share! It was just the right way, and so tasty, to finish off a meal of grilled meat.

Can you see the beef brisket inside... I ate so well.

We ended up ordering more pluma and had a fun little food fight! The side dishes were good, the soybean paste rice was good, and above all, this is a place that grills Iberico really well, so I'd definitely visit again!! If you're tired of the usual pork belly and pork neck, I recommend visiting Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui and trying the Iberico!! It's also a great spot for dates or family gatherings!!
