Fresh lamb with a crisp outside, juicy inside—such a great drinking snack!! Janghoga Yang Kkochi, a Nam-gu favorite.

On a day when I was craving lamb!! Janghoga Yang Kkochi was already proven at its Busan National University branch, so it was a no-brainer!! I went for it. Let me introduce this Nam-gu spot that was perfect for a second round of drinks.
A second-round lamb skewer stop in Nam-gu
While looking for a good place in Nam-gu with my boyfriend, we found this bar near Kyungdae! We stopped by for lamb skewers and a beer before heading home~

It is a barbecue restaurant, but there was no smell or greasy buildup, and it was run so cleanly and comfortably. The music selection 🎶 was so good too, which made me like it even more haha.

- Special lamb rib skewers, 8 skewers ₩18,000
- Yuzu highball ₩8,000
- Yantai highball ₩7,000

Janghoga’s signature menu is the special lamb rib skewers!! Such a smart idea—turning fresh ribs, which I thought could only be grilled, straight into skewers!! Haha. And the best highball is definitely the yuzu highball 😛 They are affordable at ₩7,000–₩8,000!!

They came over and explained the four seasonings—roasted salt, cumin, Vietnamese chili, and jjaran (a cumin-based spice blend)—then put whichever ones we wanted onto our side plates. Owner, lots of jjaran please 😋

You can definitely tell just by looking that it is fresh meat. It was fresh and nicely, cleanly trimmed too~

Jjashai, soy-sauce onions, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), roasted salt, and meat—setup complete! Ready to grill!

I was going to order Tsingtao beer, but I had heard this was a great place for yuzu highballs, so I ordered one ✅️

Since they add it at the top and bottom, you need to mix it well before drinking.

Grilling lamb skewers and ribs on the rotating charcoal grill
You just place each skewer onto the rotating grill over charcoal. They said to put the lamb skewers in the middle and the ribs at both ends~

With lamb skewers, I think the meal begins with watching them turn golden! That appetite-stirring smell made me hungry haha.

They browned on the outside while staying moist inside, and all that fat dripped down onto the charcoal. It somehow felt like I would gain less weight haha.

How could there be absolutely no gamey smell.. haha. There was none of that distinctive lamb odor, just a savory flavor, so I think even first-time lamb eaters could enjoy it 👏👏

And the meat itself was incredibly tender. The well-cooked lamb came off the skewer easily~ It was good plain, and I recommend the salt too! But above all, lamb skewers need jjaran!! Dip them in it and the spicy, nutty flavor becomes even more intense—so much better 😋

It was definitely 👍 when dipped in jjaran and eaten with onion. The lamb’s distinctive flavor came through much more deeply, while the onion kept it fresh and clean!!

Now move the lamb skewers up, gather the ribs in the middle, and grill them nicely. So convenient~ Whoever invented this deserves praise 👏👏

The lamb skewers paired so well with the yuzu highball, and they were so delicious, that we ordered a Yantai highball too 👏👏

Because Yantai gaoliang liquor has such a strong pineapple aroma, the sweet scent makes the highball go down so easily haha. After clearing the lamb skewers, we moved the ribs to the center, and as expected, the fat dripped away while they cooked crisp outside and moist inside haha.
At other lamb skewer places, lamb ribs are usually deboned and only the meat is skewered, so they look similar to lamb skewers. Here, though, the look is definitely one of a kind haha. The whole rib bone! It looks so much more delicious ✔️ There is lots of meat on it too, so there is plenty to eat!!

From dinner gatherings to a second round
With a varied menu and meat dishes, this is a great bar for company dinners or evening meal gatherings 🍻 I highly recommend it not only as a first stop for drinks, but also as a second stop like ours: even when you are full, you can comfortably order and eat only as much as you want!!
