Gimhae gallery café with oil paintings and Mont Blanc: Peer a Peer
In short
Peer a Peer is a large gallery-style café in Jillye-myeon, Gimhae, Gyeongnam. On a Saturday afternoon date, the visit paired a Mont Blanc (6,500 won) and an almond croungee (4,500 won, a flattened croissant) with an iced Americano, with time to read the oil paintings and artist bios hung around Peer a Peer. The crisp pastries went well with the Americano, and the space is a calm place to sit for a while.

A large gallery café in Gimhae worth visiting — Peer a Peer
I'm Joy, two great restaurants a day! Haven't been to Gimhae in a while, so I went for good food, a date, and then a coffee break at Peer a Peer, a big Gimhae café. Let me introduce it!
Peer a Peer hours and parking in Jillye, Gimhae
Peer a Peer is a large gallery café in Jillye-myeon, Gimhae, Gyeongnam. It's open weekdays 11:00–20:00 and weekends 11:00–21:00, with no closed days. There's a private parking lot.
- Weekdays 11:00–20:00
- Weekends 11:00–21:00
- Closed: none
- Parking: private lot
True to a large Gimhae café, there's a ton of parking space.
Maybe because the weather was so nice, I felt good the moment I walked in from the entrance 🍃 This large Gimhae café is really spacious haha.
Green trees and blue sky — came to Gimhae for some fresh air and left feeling healed 💙

Since the weather's been nice lately I thought about sitting outside, but the indoor space is great too, being a gallery café, so we decided to eat inside.
This really shows the textbook version of a large Gimhae café. There's quite a distance to walk to the café entrance — impressive 👏👏

Peer a Peer has a smoking room at the far end of the outdoor area 🚬
Inside Peer a Peer: a long counter, books and oil paintings
Right as you walk in, true to a large café, the counter is huge too. On the other side, baked goods are laid out.

There are a lot of books too — a good space to enjoy a book with a cup of coffee.

The artworks scattered around the café are so lovely I wandered around taking photos! The oil paintings especially are really nice 🎨
There are also artist bios and artwork descriptions, which make it more interesting once you know them — worth reading 🙂
Even though it's a gallery café, it's not a no-kids zone but a kids-care zone. Peer a Peer asks customers with children to actively look after their kids so children can also learn proper café culture.
What we ordered at Peer a Peer and what it cost
At Peer a Peer we ordered almond croungee ₩4,500, Mont Blanc ₩6,500, iced Americano ₩5,500, and iced Americano decaf ₩6,000 ✅️
There are three filter coffees, priced ₩7,000–10,000. 1. Ethiopia Sapo Mosto 2. Ethiopia Hurre 3. Kenya Thunguri

There's cake in the showcase too.
There's also a Naver receipt review event. Scan the QR code, write your Naver receipt review in advance, show it to staff, and you'll get a Peer a Peer muffin.

Peer a Peer bakery lineup at 1pm on a Saturday
A wide variety of baked goods are prepared too. It was around 1pm on a Saturday and there was still a good variety left.

Various rusks, lemon meringue croissant, tomato focaccia

Red bean paste manju, apple cream pie, churro chocolate salt bread, basil sausage bread, salty chocolate pound cake, lemon pound cake

Milk soft baguette, various salt breads

64-layer bread, butter rice cake, egg pie

What Peer a Peer believes is the essence of a space is staying. This space, holding over 40 years of history, isn't meant to be a place you pass through, but one you want to stay in and gain a good experience from while you're there. Rustic yet refined, unexpected yet familiar — simply staying is enough.

How the Mont Blanc and almond croungee tasted
Peer a Peer's Mont Blanc (₩6,500) is a pastry dessert with well-defined layers, and it went especially well with the iced Americano. Bread and coffee after browsing the artworks — this is what made today's date even more fun haha. Sugar-charged, caffeine-restored, and happy.
Even at a glance, the Mont Blanc's layers were beautifully defined! I ate it with high expectations, and the pastry's crisp-yet-soft interior was so good. There's fun in peeling off the stacked layers one by one, and the baked outer part had a nutty, buttery flavor — light yet sweet, and it paired perfectly with the Mont Blanc coffee.
Both pastries I picked were on the nutty-sweet side, so they went well with the Americano!! The coffee felt like it reset the buttery richness each time — desserts really do taste better with Americano ☕️
The almond croungee, with plenty of nutty almond topping piled onto crisp pastry, was quite big, so we cut it with the scissors provided. The outside crumbled crisply while the inside had that pressed, chewy pastry texture that was so appealing.
Crisp pastry, nutty-sweet Mont Blanc, and Americano — a great combination for a menu pick. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing too! Got to enjoy some lovely artworks as well^^
