Curious about the night-only 'Bammasil'

My boyfriend and I really love drinking tea! I'd been to Suwolgyeonghwa many times during the sunny daytime, but I'd never made it to the specially operated night-only 'Bammasil,' so I'd always been curious about it 🌝

Wanting a romantic weekend evening date, we drove out for a night visit to Suwolgyeonghwa, famous for its Songjeong café ocean view, during its Bammasil hours after 7pm!

First impressions & atmosphere

After parking comfortably at the bottom of the building, I looked up and saw the building's soft glow blending with the night sea — it got me excited even before going in :)

Bammasil is 4th-floor only: interior & seating

During Bammasil hours, the 3rd floor isn't in use and only the 4th floor operates! The moment we opened the door, a serene yet emotive Korean hanok (traditional house) interior welcomed us ✨

The tables were spaced generously and it was quiet, perfect for a calm chat.

Best of all, just looking out through the picture window at the calm night sea was healing in itself.

Late at night, even as we sat with our tea already ordered, couples and other guests kept coming in — proof that this is one of those Busan date-course spots that in-the-know people keep coming back to 🌊

Opening the hanok door reveals a separate space where you can purchase tea :)

A Bammasil menu named after the days of the week

The Bammasil menu is made up of witty, unique drinks named after the days of the week — Wol, Hwa, Su, Mok, Geum, To, Il!

Normally you can only order from the Bammasil-exclusive drinks, but I'd dressed way too thin and cold that day and was shivering 🥶. Just as I was feeling awkward about it, the owner noticed and kindly let me order a warm tea instead! I was so touched by their warmth 💖

What we ordered & tasting notes

• Su [水] ₩8,500 (jasmine, lemon, soda, Milky Way)
• Bomulgyeol ₩8,500 (oolong-based tea with melon and floral notes)
• Pungwol [風月] ₩8,500 (handmade monaka in 4 flavors)

Our order came out neatly arranged on a tray, and wow... my eyes went wide just from the visuals! 👀✨

🍹 Su [水] — the color-changing Bammasil-exclusive drink

First up, Su [水], the Bammasil-exclusive refreshing drink, was a drink you drink with your eyes first!

At first it was a mysterious, glowing blue, but the moment we poured in the accompanying tea, it turned purple! 💜

The rising bubbles and the color change made it look like the Milky Way itself had been poured into the glass — it was so pretty that my boyfriend and I just sat there staring at it 🥹

The subtle jasmine and bright lemon blended together for a refreshing tea ☺️

🍵 Warm Bomulgyeol

The warm Bomulgyeol, which they kindly offered since I was cold, had a fragrant floral scent and sweet musk melon aroma 🌸

Being oolong-based, it was clean yet subtly sweet, so I could warm up my body without any hesitation!

It wasn't overly strong and had a taste that put my mind at ease too — I was very satisfied.

🥠 Pungwol [風月] monaka, 4 flavors

The Pungwol monaka dessert we had alongside the tea came in 4 flavors (green tea, red bean, yuzu, and one that was nutty and crisp like puffed rice)!

There's a generous amount of bean paste piled on the crispy monaka shell, and the bitterness of the yuzu, the sweetness of the red bean, and the bitterness of the green tea all paired really well with the tea ☺️

They were perfect finger food to pick up one at a time 👍

A time when I could enjoy delicious tea and dessert under soft lighting while looking out at the wide-open night sea! Among Songjeong's ocean-view cafés, Suwolgyeonghwa's Bammasil is by far the best place to feel this kind of romantic mood while gazing at the night sea. It's a great date course for tea-loving couples like us, but also more than fitting for bringing your parents along!
