Once I stepped inside, the space was bigger than I expected! I thought it was just a rice cake sales spot, but there was a café-style seating area in the back where you could sit and relax. The range of coffee and drinks was also more varied than I expected!

I visited around 5:30pm, and by then almost all the mochi varieties were already sold out🥹

These days a single fruit mochi or shine muscat mochi often runs ₩3,000-4,000 at a lot of places, but here each one is around ₩1,500, so it was noticeably easier on the wallet!

Big variety and reasonable prices — a great fit for anyone who loves rice cakes👍 The affordable pricing also makes it a solid choice for Cheongju event tteok orders!

How the fruit mochi and shine muscat mochi taste

First, the mochi! The rice cake itself was chewy and the fruit was on the sweeter side. Considering the price, it's great value for a light snack piece by piece. Also recommended as a gift!!!

🍕 Does Tteokmama's pizza sulgi really taste like pizza?

Honestly, this was the biggest reason I came to Tteokmama in Yullyang-dong haha. I'd heard pizza sulgi was really trending lately, so I got curious and bought some right away. From the outside it just looks like a soft sulgi (steamed rice cake), but pizza sauce is hidden inside! So I took a bite and... oh?! This actually tastes like pizza, more than I expected haha

The chewy, crumbly texture of the sulgi combined with the pizza sauce inside really did taste like eating pizza🍕 A rice cake that tastes like pizza felt a little strange at first, but the more I ate, the more it weirdly worked haha. Especially if you love pizza, it's worth trying once just for fun✌️
