You have to go out when the weather's clear and not too hot or cold!! On a day I started the car for a drive, this Goyang café's outdoor garden turned out to be gorgeous, so I'm here with the review. It's Baedagol Bakery House in Wondang, Goyang, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space and delicious house-made bread. Best café I've been to in Ilsan~~

Where is Baedagol Bakery House, and where do you park?

Baedagol Bakery House is at 123 Hoguk-ro 1121beon-gil, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, open daily from 10 to 21. About 10 cars can park in front of the main building, and if that's full, there's parking for about 40 more across the street — a Goyang café worth the trip.

The long white standalone building with its well-tended garden catches your eye right away — already giving good Ilsan-café vibes~ It used to be a house, but renovated at this scale, it felt more like some wealthy person's villa than an ordinary home.

What is the garden like, and can you bring kids and dogs?

The garden at Baedagol Bakery House stretches back deep, so there's more seating than it looks, and it's great for bringing dogs or kids. It would've been pretty when the hydrangeas were in full bloom too, but even now the colorful potted flowers and green trees make for pretty photos. It's cool enough that there are no bugs, and it was wonderful to just enjoy the garden.

Once inside, there's also a sand playground.

The view of the parasols from the 2nd-floor terrace makes the garden look even prettier! The grass, the trees, the flowers — anyone who's done this kind of thing knows how much care goes into it~

First-floor seating and second-floor private rooms

The 1st floor of Baedagol Bakery House is split into a café area and an ordering area on either side of a twin arch. Even though it's not a new building, it's clearly been well kept up after renovation — everything looked clean and complete.

Twin arches dividing the 1st-floor café area and ordering area

There are large tables for bigger groups, and the airy floor-to-ceiling windows give the 1st floor a full garden view! The tables are wood slabs, giving a natural yet upscale feel. The solid wood chairs are genuinely comfortable too.

You can peek at the bakery display through the arch. The 2nd floor is reached through the ordering area.

From the 2nd floor you get an open view of the greenery and sky across the way. Such a refreshing floor-to-ceiling window view. The best part of the 2nd floor is that there are 3 doorless private rooms! With windows so it doesn't feel closed in, but still private — a seat worth coveting.

On the 2nd floor, there are also 3 seats lined up on the outdoor terrace. Imagine how pretty it'll be when the 30-year-old cherry tree on the left blooms! A Goyang café worth visiting each season.

The bakery counter and the ₩9,900 Goodmorning Set

Back down to the 1st floor, the bakery counter! There's a refrigerated section with cakes and tarts, and all sorts of breads that look really delicious. The glass showcase opens with a button press, which was nice for hygiene too. Since everything is made and sold same-day in store, the bread is fresh and delicious~

It's melon season right now, so there's a range of melon menu items, and I especially wanted to try the melon bingsu (shaved ice). The Goodmorning Set — an americano plus any bread — is ₩9,900, which is great value, and with various discount events like military, birthday and follow discounts, the more you come to Baedagol Bakery House, the more it pays off~

Ordered café latte and three kinds of bread

Bread and café latte at the outdoor parasol seats

At first I was going to eat inside on the 1st floor, but how could I pass up that view outside? I grabbed a plate and things from the self-bar and headed out.

Ta-da~ This is it. The sunlight was warm and pleasant, but the parasol was big enough to give shade, and with it being morning the breeze was cool, and pretty flowers all around. It was just healing. Once plated, the bread looked even more appetizing. Please grab a plate instead of cutting straight on the wax paper.

And this place is a latte destination! They apparently have 4 kinds of beans, using only specialty beans from the local area's best coffee-brewing spot, and check the machine three times a day.

The croissant sandwich packed with plump shrimp had a hearty, fresh filling, perfect as a meal, and the croissant itself was delicious~ The crisp-outside bagel paired with a sweet cream cheese spread and fragrant chives was a great combo! This bread is also on the larger side. The fluffy ciabatta with cheese cubes and olives — the onion ciabatta — had shredded onion inside, giving it good aroma, with a soft, moist bread.

Self-bar, restrooms and baby-friendly facilities

But it's way too much to eat alone~ Baedagol Bakery House's self-bar has sealable packing bags too, so it's very easy to wrap up leftovers. The self-bar is well stocked with a mini oven, dishes, a water dispenser and more.

Curious about the Baedagol Bakery House restrooms? Super clean, and even the atmosphere in there is pretty. One stall has a diaper changing table. There are also wooden baby chairs outside the restroom, making this a Ilsan café that's easy to visit with a baby along for an outing.

Baedagol Bakery House, where you can enjoy delicious bread and coffee alongside a pretty garden! Being in a nice place makes you think of nice people — next time I'd like to come back with one person, or with a group.
