Jeju Yongdam fish restaurant, dad's set with yuzu sauce: Naneun Jigeum

Today's post is a review of Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch, a fish restaurant near Jeju Airport! Since it's right by the airport, it was perfect for a meal on the first day of the trip 👍🏻 Sharing my review after trying both the grilled and braised fish!

Where is Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch, and where do you park?

Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch is right on Yongmun-ro, so it's easy to get to! I drove there, and there was a public parking lot across the street, so parking was no hassle at all.

This is roughly how many tables were inside! It looked narrow from outside, but the tables were actually packed in quite efficiently.

In front of the entrance you could see the fish on display, which was nice haha. And the fish were seriously huge..!

They even had hair ties, a first-aid kit, and a charger, plus a phone stand which is exactly what you need when eating alone 🥹 Feel free to use whatever you need!

Next to that, they even had a baby chair ready, so it's fine to visit with kids too 👍🏻

There was a menu at every table, so it was easy to browse comfortably.

The set menus were well organized and there were à la carte options too, so it was easy to decide! There was also a kids' set.

Besides the review event, there's a 10% discount for soldiers, police, and others with ID 🙌🏻 If you qualify, definitely take advantage of it!

What comes with the dad's set for two?

The Dad's Set is a set where you pick one grilled dish and one braised dish, and it came with grilled mackerel, braised cutlassfish, and soft tofu stew all together. As soon as we sat down, they brought out banchan (side dishes) that tasted just like home cooking! They also gave us sauces to dip the grilled fish in. Sesame sauce and yuzu sauce — personally the yuzu sauce was so good that I kept dipping into it over and over.. ♡

With the rice set out too, we were ready to eat.

Soft tofu stew in the dad's set

The soft tofu stew came out first! It had not just plenty of soft tofu but tons of egg too!! Soft tofu plus egg in a red broth.. it felt like a hangover cure of sorts. It wasn't quite the soft tofu stew flavor I expected, but it had a savory-red taste without sweetness, so I kept going back for more. It was delicious!

Next up, the grilled mackerel I chose as the grilled dish in the Dad's Set. It came out in a cute fish-shaped dish haha. Not sure how well it shows in photos, but the size was seriously enormous..!

Braised cutlassfish (galchi jorim)

The braised cutlassfish I picked for the braised option in the Dad's Set. The spicy-sweet sauce with the tender cutlassfish was so good.. There were three big chunks of cutlassfish along with radish, onion, chili, and more!

And this is how the Dad's Set for two turned out! Pretty generous, right?

This is the steamed egg we ordered as a side dish! It looks small in photos too, but it was actually really big.

Time to start deboning the fish for real 🌟

Maybe because the fish was so big, the flesh was plump too.. ♡ It was grilled just right, not dry at all!! Pick out the flesh, dip it heavily in yuzu sauce, and it's ridiculously good.

The braised cutlassfish was so soft and tender!! But the seasoning was really the kicker. It was sweet yet with a spicy kick that hit right after, so eating it over rice was already great, but mixing the sauce with rice and steamed egg together made it disappear in no time-! The two of us cleaned our plates and walked out patting our stomachs haha 😅

The location near the airport also makes it perfect for a meal on your first or last day of the trip! I'd highly recommend the Dad's Set if you want to enjoy both grilled and braised fish together — that's the end of this well-fed review-!
