Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch

Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon: a 24-hour Korean BBQ by Nonhyeon Station
I was looking for somewhere to eat a solid meat meal in Gangnam even late at night, and that's how I found Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch. I'd heard it was a famous 24-hour spot in Gangnam, and once I actually got there, I could totally see why celebrities are said to love this place too.

Since it's open around the clock, it's a great 24-hour Gangnam restaurant to swing by without worrying about the time, whether your plans run late or your work dinner drags on.

Outdoor tent seating and group reservations at Daepae Market
Walking in, the first thing I noticed was the outdoor tent seating. Grilling meat while catching a cool breeze outside felt like a nice change of pace — I imagine it's especially popular on summer nights. This Nonhyeon-dong restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, so I liked that you can choose depending on the weather or the vibe you want.
There's plenty of seating and group reservations are available too.

Self-serve bar, 2,000 won per person with unlimited vegetable refills
The real charm of this place was the self-serve bar. They had vegetables, bean sprouts, bracken fern, minari (water dropwort), and kimchi all laid out, so I could grab as much as I wanted. Eating just meat can get greasy fast, but pairing it with a constant refill of fresh vegetables meant I never got sick of it. The combo of minari and lettuce with a piece of meat on top was especially delicious. The self-serve bar alone was reason enough to want to come back to this Nonhyeon-dong restaurant.
Self-serve bar usage fee: ₩2,000 per person

How much is thin-sliced pork belly? 4,900 won per 100g
Thin-sliced pork belly (daepae samgyeopsal) is really pricey these days, so even though it's sold by the 100g, getting it at ₩4,900 meant I could try a bunch of different cuts without stressing too much.

I ordered the daepae samgyeopsal and piled on minari, bracken fern, green onion kimchi, wasabi, and meat dipping sauce to try it every which way~

Which cuts to order: pork shoulder, beef brisket and more
The variety of meat was really impressive too. Daepae samgyeopsal was the main event, but they also had pork shoulder, beef brisket, and more, so it was easy to pick according to your taste. The thin-sliced daepae samgyeopsal cooked fast the moment it hit the grill, so there was no waiting around, and it kept eating well with the juices still intact. The side dishes — sweet corn and seasoned bean sprouts — kept my chopsticks coming back too. True to a 24-hour Gangnam spot, the meat turnover was fast, so I kept getting to grill fresh cuts.

We also ordered doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and it was great to eat alongside rice and meat, yum.

How to get there from Nonhyeon Station Exit 3
It's within a 5-minute walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 3, so it was easy to get to by public transport too. Group bookings are possible, and the men's and women's restrooms are separate, so it seemed like a good spot for a work dinner. There was also signage about bringing pets, so if that's relevant to you, it's worth checking.
I also tried the pork jowl, added more daepae, and ordered beef belly too.

Finish with self-serve fried rice, 3,500 won
No meat meal is complete without fried rice, and Daepae Market sells self-serve fried rice too — ₩3,500 per serving. I wrapped up the meal nicely and deliciously with that.
Outdoor seating, an unlimited fresh-vegetable self-serve bar, and a wide variety of meat cuts — this place had all three going for it. If you're looking for a 24-hour Gangnam restaurant that's open even late at night, I'd definitely recommend Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch. I think I'll be back here myself next time I get a late-night craving in Gangnam. If you're trying to decide on a Gangnam restaurant for a work dinner or a get-together, I highly recommend Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch. With outdoor seating and a self-serve bar, once you go, you'll keep thinking about it.
