Waiting and the restaurant atmosphere

There can be a wait during meal times, so there are chairs set up both inside and outside the restaurant for waiting!

The place is pretty spacious with plenty of tables! If you book ahead for a group, they'll push tables together so you can all eat at one table.

There's a note explaining that aside from the basic side dishes, everything else is cooked to order so it might take a bit of time. It took maybe 5 minutes, which wasn't too long to wait.

There was even a hair tie dispenser on one wall — I forgot to bring one and it came in super handy! Little touches like this from the owner are so appreciated.

The grilled bulgogi set for two spread

Here's the grilled bulgogi set for two at Yun Sikdang, a Masan Korean set-meal spot. Look at how full the table is with delicious side dishes! My companion arrived a bit late, so they thoughtfully held their rice until later.

Looking at it again, what a spread! Grilled bulgogi, kimchi pancake, grilled mackerel, 9 side dishes, and seasoned squid too.

These are the main-course-level dishes: hot bubbling soybean paste stew, grilled bulgogi, crispy salty-savory kimchi pancake, and nicely grilled mackerel.

Steamed egg, water kimchi with young radish greens, seasoned bean sprouts, seasoned eggplant, spicy marinated crab, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), kimchi salad, stir-fried anchovies, and braised abalone served per person.

How's the grilled bulgogi?

Sweet and salty grilled bulgogi cooked on a grill — something anyone, young or old, would love! Grilled bulgogi is the main dish and there are so many side dishes that pair well with it, so eating them together was so good.

The mackerel was also cooked thoroughly so it wasn't fishy at all and was delicious. I usually can't eat grilled fish because it's too fishy, but this one is grilled crisp so it's really good.

Crisply grilled mackerel

Just like the mackerel, the kimchi pancake is thin and crispy, but with so much kimchi inside it's also chewy and delicious.

I also liked that the utensils were individually wrapped, nice and clean.

Steamed egg is refillable

The steamed egg is soft and so delicious, and it's refillable! True to a Masan Korean set-meal spot, it pairs perfectly with the grilled bulgogi!

Soybean paste stew with crab and clams

The soybean paste stew was loaded with crab, and the clams inside weren't small ones but plump, delicious ones! The broth was refreshing and the clams were plump enough to be worth picking out, it felt like something homemade. Truly a Masan Korean set-meal spot worth its reputation.

I usually don't eat grilled fish much because of the fishy taste, but Yun Sikdang's grilled mackerel had no fishy taste at all and the meat came off the bone easily, so I ate it happily.

Wrapping well-grilled bulgogi in soft lettuce was so good. I think parents would love it, and kids too — a flavor that's hard to dislike!

Spicy marinated crab with Sichuan pepper: a love-it-or-hate-it note

The spicy marinated crab had Sichuan pepper in it, which was such a surprise kick! It might be divisive because of the Sichuan pepper, but personally I loved it!

I've recently gotten hooked on the seasoned meat plus steamed egg combo, so I always eat them together now. I never used to order steamed egg at Korean BBQ places, but now I'm totally addicted to this combo, haha.

The young radish water kimchi was refreshing and delicious too. I think it's one of the side dishes that pairs especially well with grilled bulgogi. A side dish sense that explains why this is known as a Masan lunch spot.

The grilled bulgogi set meal is also great wrapped in fragrant perilla leaves! If you're searching for a Masan Korean set-meal spot, definitely save this one and go visit.

The braised abalone wasn't too salty either, and was spoon-sized, plump and chewy — great with rice.

Grilled bulgogi and seasoned squid also go really well together. There's a lot of fun in mixing and matching all the side dishes at Yun Sikdang, a Masan Korean set-meal spot.

A finishing mix coffee, and the final verdict

They even serve a finishing mix coffee! This is honestly a restaurant that would get you praised for a great meal if you bring your parents, and the menu is varied enough for anyone, young or old, to enjoy without complaint. If you're looking for a Masan Korean set-meal restaurant or a Masan lunch spot, definitely check out Yun Sikdang on the Bukmasan furniture street. I'd go back!
