I went to Anmin Jung-dong, a well-loved BBQ spot in Jung-dong, Changwon. If you're looking for a place where the staff grill the meat for you, Anmin Jung-dong! If you want good-quality pork done right, Anmin Jung-dong! It's clean and doesn't leave that heavy meat smell on your clothes — here's my genuinely satisfied review~!

A reservation visit after work, and the setup already impressed me
I came to Anmin Jung-dong, a Jung-dong, Changwon favorite, late after work. I'd made a reservation, and they had everything set up right on time. They even called once more to check the timing before setting the table. Honestly touched, haha. I'd already tried the Gimhae branch of Anmin and loved it, so I always meant to try the Jung-dong one too — finally made it happen.

At the Jung-dong branch, they write on the paper table mat what number guest you are — a small detail, but it shows they genuinely care about each customer, which I really liked, haha.
Menu and prices at Anmin Jung-dong

Here's the menu at Anmin Jung-dong — you can also see it on Naver Maps! For à la carte prices: whole pork belly and whole pork neck are 130g for ₩12,000, and the special cuts platter (loin fat, deckle) is 120g for ₩13,000 — orders of 2 servings or more required. Fresh pork skin with jowl is 180g for ₩20,000, and the vegetable platter is ₩5,000 per plate.
But at Anmin, I'd recommend the set menus~ We ordered the half-pig set. It's 450g, and you get to try pork belly, pork neck, and herb-marinated skin all at once! Great for two people~ Add on an à la carte item or a meal dish and the portion is just right, haha. Perfect for two, for a date. If there are three or more of you, the whole-pig set is better — ₩59,500 for 700g of pork belly, pork neck, and special cuts.
For meal menu items, there's a doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) with snow crab, and jar sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), which is what we ordered~ There's also ramen, golbimmyeon, white fried rice, and a 2-person hot pot rice.

Drinks and free corkage
The drink lineup was really varied — Hwayo, Bohae Bokbunja, Tsingtao, plus the basics like soju, beer, makgeolli, and zero-sugar cola, and there were also cocktails, non-alcoholic cocktails, and highballs! Oh, and Anmin Jung-dong is free corkage~ I brought wine to drink at the Gimhae branch before, haha. If you've got a bottle of wine or liquor saved up, this is a great place to bring it along.
What's in the 450g half-pig set

Here's the half-pig set we ordered! At 450g, that's more than 3 servings by the usual 130g standard~ It comes with shishito peppers, king oyster mushrooms, green onion, cherry tomatoes, and eggplant. Pork neck, pork belly, and herb-marinated skin come out, and the cuts are thick!

An easy BBQ spot thanks to the grilling service
Anmin Jung-dong, a Jung-dong, Changwon favorite, offers a grilling service. With BBQ places where you grill it yourself, you usually just go anyway, but you end up sweating over the grill, and one person cooks while the other eats. At Anmin Jung-dong, staff grill it for you, which makes things so much more comfortable~

Once the meat and vegetables are nicely cooked, they're lined up neatly off to the side. Then you just help yourself and enjoy, haha. The first bite always goes straight into salt, just to taste the meat itself. After that, dip it in whatever sauces or seasonings you like!

The eggplant and cherry tomatoes went really well with the grilled pork. At home, I usually just grill onions and garlic alongside meat, but at Anmin Jung-dong you get to enjoy it with a wider variety — mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, eggplant — which was even better! Right when things start feeling heavy, biting into a cherry tomato refreshes your palate!

How were the pork neck and belly?
Here's the pork neck and belly at Anmin Jung-dong, a Jung-dong, Changwon favorite. You can see both are packed full of juice, right? There are honestly a lot of BBQ places in Jung-dong, and I've tried many, but Anmin's meat is different~ It's well aged, and having staff carefully grill that delicious aged meat makes the perfectly cooked result even tastier!

The herb-marinated pork skin in the set
I especially love the herb-marinated pork skin that comes with the set — and not all pork skin is the same, by the way. It's chewy and soft while still keeping that satisfying chewiness at the edges, haha. It was genuinely so good my chopsticks kept going back for more. Dipped in injeolmi (sweet rice cake) soybean powder, it turns nutty, and the fat isn't heavy at all — it's pure nuttiness, a real treat!

To finish: jar sundubu jjigae
After the half-pig set, we ordered the jar sundubu jjigae. It came out bubbling away, and the soft tofu stew was pretty spicy with rich savory depth, which paired perfectly with rice as a proper meal after all that meat. It really washes away the heaviness, haha. The spicy sundubu jjigae was delicious.
Inside and the seating at Anmin Jung-dong

The inside of Anmin Jung-dong, a Jung-dong, Changwon favorite, is spacious! Further inside there's even a door leading to a separated space, so you can have a more private company dinner or gathering there. When I visited, there were guests dining in that inner room~

Anmin Jung-dong, a Jung-dong, Changwon favorite, is already word-of-mouth famous in the neighborhood, so guests kept coming in even late into the night~ Once last order passed around 10pm, no more guests came in, so I took a photo of the empty seats. The tables are spaced out generously, making it good for families, group gatherings, or get-togethers with coworkers!!

Parking and location
On my way out of Anmin Jung-dong, a Jung-dong, Changwon favorite, I noticed the fridge where the pork ages, clean and tidy, so I took a photo! Also, the Jung-dong branch supports 2 hours of parking at Jung-dong Parking Lot, so you can eat at a relaxed pace!

Anmin Jung-dong, a Jung-dong, Changwon favorite, has a sign with a picture of a pig... running around in a meadow, so it catches your eye even from a distance, haha. So cute..!! It's a fresh-pork charcoal grill specialty restaurant — if you live near Jung-dong and it's a cool autumn evening, take a walk over and enjoy some delicious pork with a drink alongside family or your partner. That's happiness, right there~
