Banchan refills and double rice at Yun Sikdang, a Changwon set meal

I went for dinner to Yun Sikdang, a set meal restaurant near Bukmasan furniture street, after a while~ Here's my honest review!

Yun Sikdang's location and hours

📍Location: 26-1 Bukseong-ro, 1st floor, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon, Gyeongnam, South Korea

⏰Hours: Closed every Wednesday / Daily 11:30–21:00 / break time 14:30–17:00 / last order 19:50

Group seating available, high chairs, wifi, separate men's/women's restrooms, parking available. No parking enforcement on the road across the street from 11am–2pm and from 6pm through the night. Parking at the Bukmasan furniture street public lot is recommended, and up to 1 hour of parking is supported per table.

Yun Sikdang sits right in the middle of Bukmasan furniture street~ It's famous for its grilled bulgogi set. I hadn't been in a while so I went again haha. First time for my friend though!!

Closed every Wednesday, so keep that in mind! Open daily from 11:30am to 9pm, with a break time from 2:30pm to 5pm :) Just looking at the waitlist tells you it's a popular spot..🫢

Interior and the menu

When we walked in for dinner it was fully booked, so I took interior shots once guests started clearing out! The inside is spacious enough and the tables are spaced well ☺️

Main menu (minimum order of 2) — grilled bulgogi set ₩16,000 per person

• Extra menu: grilled bulgogi platter ₩8,000 / kimchi pancake (kimchijeon) ₩5,000 / doenjang stew ₩3,000 / grilled fish ₩3,000 / seasoned crab (yangnyeom gejang) 4pc ₩4,000 / abalone jang 4pc ₩10,000 / rice ₩1,000
• Drinks: soju/beer ₩5,000 / makgeolli ₩4,000 / soft drinks ₩2,000
• Even elementary schoolers must order one menu item each.

What we ordered — grilled bulgogi set for two ₩32,000 + 2 extra bowls of rice ₩2,000 = ₩34,000 total

Apparently at Yun Sikdang, aside from the basic banchan, everything else starts cooking as soon as you order~ It didn't take long for the food to come out haha.

What comes with the grilled bulgogi set

Lettuce, geotjeori (fresh kimchi), fish, kimchi pancake, doenjang stew, grilled bulgogi, and 9 kinds of banchan — all included in the grilled bulgogi set! So many dishes, right? The magic of getting hungrier the moment you see it when you're already starving..ㅋㅋㅋ

The doenjang stew comes out bubbling hot!! Savory but with a spicy kick from the chili peppers 😋 If you like your doenjang stew spicy, this might be your favorite.

Loaded with tofu, which I love, too haha. Adding a doenjang stew is only ₩3,000, which is such a steal;;

Banchan refills are possible too

If any banchan runs low, just ask the staff and they'll bring more haha. We got the steamed egg and japchae refilled! Really a great set meal spot to eat heartily for two 👍

Since we went while starving, we each polished off two bowls of rice..🤣🤣🤣 The subtle smoky char on the grilled bulgogi just makes the rice disappear..

Ha.. two bowls of rice, fully demolished ✨️ My favorites were the grilled bulgogi and the doenjang stew!! The japchae banchan was also sweet-and-salty and addictive, so I finished it happily and left.
