Getting to Mikado Sushi near Pyeongtaek Station and parking

I wanted sushi in Pyeongtaek, so this time I went to a conveyor-belt sushi place!! The place I visited was Mikado Sushi Pyeongtaek Station Branch (미카도스시 평택역점). With conveyor-belt sushi, you can pick whatever you feel like at the moment, so it is great for trying a bit of this and that instead of settling on just one menu item. The two of us visited that day, and we ended up eating quite a lot, haha.

There is no dedicated parking lot for the restaurant, so we parked at Jaran Public Parking Lot and walked over. It is not very far from the restaurant, so if you are driving, I think that lot will work well. Even the walk from the car to lunch was quicker than expected.

A tidy restaurant and a moving sushi rail

When I stepped inside, the whole place felt clean. A conveyor-belt sushi restaurant can make you imagine lots of people and a slightly hectic atmosphere, but when I went, the tables and surroundings were neatly kept, so it was easy to sit down and eat comfortably.

Once we sat down, sushi was continuously circling along the rail. That is part of the fun of conveyor-belt sushi, haha. It is nice to decide what you want before you go, but once you are there, a piece passing right in front of you can suddenly make you want it too, lol. We sat down and started by picking the items we could see.

Sushi picked to suit our tastes

Rather than focusing on only certain items this time, we tried a good mix of everything from fish sushi to shrimp, seared sushi, and gunkan sushi.

The two of us have slightly different tastes, so a conveyor-belt sushi place was actually more convenient for us. One of us likes fish sushi, while the other likes shrimp or seared items, haha. We did not have to force ourselves to have the same things; each of us could simply take what we wanted.

The white fish here was sooo soft and tasty.

Eho-bak-i's first plate was eel sushi!! It was not salty, and the seasoning was just right. There were so many kinds that we would look over the sushi on the rail, grab one when something appealing passed by, then pick up another whenever we thought of a different item while eating, haha. At first, I thought we would eat a reasonable amount and leave, but then the plates started piling up one by one, haha.

Order items not on the rail by QR code

If the item we wanted was not passing in front of us, we could also order it separately with the QR code at the table.

We ate about three plates of salmon sushi. It was soft and just melted in the mouth.

The presentation is amazing, right? The muk-eunji sushi, made with aged kimchi, was really delicious too. They also had sauces and things like rakgyo (pickled scallions) to eat with the sushi. When I eat sushi, I need to have a piece of rakgyo now and then to make it feel like I can start fresh again, haha, so I made sure to eat plenty.

A day of 32 plates between two people

Flounder and sea bream with real-name labels, lol haha. They had written the preparation dates like that. We ate about 32 plates in total..? That works out to 16 plates each, but we had no idea we had eaten that much while we were eating. There were desserts on the rail too, so you could reset with a cake-like dessert now and then. Also, Mikado Sushi uses the same price for every plate, so it was nice that picking lots of different kinds did not make the bill complicated.

I think we kept eating without getting tired of it because we could have a small amount of so many different kinds. Picking all these different things is the fun of conveyor-belt sushi!! That day, we ate such a huge variety of sushi and left full to the very end. The restaurant was clean overall, it was easy to pick sushi straight from the rail, and we could separately order anything we wanted by QR code, so it was comfortable and nice all around. Above all, for two people like us who want different kinds of sushi, I think a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant is sooo convenient.
