Baekseok-dong braised rib restaurant, Goyang: Jimidang gondre rice set
In short
Jimidang Ilsan Main Branch is a spicy braised pork rib restaurant in Baekseok-dong, Goyang, Gyeonggi. The owner-recommended set for two was ordered at spice level 1 (about as hot as Shin Ramyun) and came with gondre rice, a Bongpyeong buckwheat pancake and grapefruit ade, and level 1 was pleasantly sharp rather than punishing even for a weak spice tolerance. Jimidang is a good call near Baekseok Station on a day you want to pick your own heat and finish with a filling bowl of rice.

What we ordered at Jimidang in Baekseok-dong
I was craving something spicy in Baekseok-dong, so I went to Jimidang!!! (I've been going since it was still Paldeok Restaurant, hahaha.) I love spicy braised pork ribs, so this is a place that pops into my head sometimes — worth checking out if you're looking for a meat restaurant near Baekseok Station.
We ordered the set for two that the owner recommended, and also got a grapefruit ade and a Coolpis :)

Is there a waiting area at Jimidang?
There's a space outside where you can wait. When I came in winter once, there was a tent set up and a heater, so I could wait warmly, haha.

How spicy is level 1 on Jimidang's braised rib scale?
At Jimidang you can choose the spice level of the braised pork ribs to your taste. I'm not exactly bad with spicy food, but really spicy stuff is tough for me, so I picked level 1, which is about like Shin Ramyun! They said level 2 is like Buldak, and there are even spicier levels above that.
For my taste it was just the right amount of spicy-good, so I could eat it without worry. If you're confident with spice, it could be fun to try a higher spice level of this Ilsan braised rib dish.

Side dishes and the red soy sauce at Jimidang
All the basic side dishes were tasty and not too salty! That red sauce over there — when you dip it, it actually tastes like soy sauce. Red but it's soy sauce! I found that surprising.

Even level 1 was pleasantly spicy-hot, which made eating this Ilsan braised rib dish fun, and mixing the bean sprouts and green onion shreds into the sauce worked really well.

Hair ties and dental floss at every seat
There are hair ties and dental floss at every seat. Full marks for the owner's thoughtfulness. Every time I come, I get to eat in comfort.

Braised pork ribs with gondre rice: how the combo tastes
The visuals were seriously insane, hahaha. As it started bubbling away, a spicy smell rose up and my appetite kicked in right away. There were plenty of bean sprouts and green onions in there, which went great with the pork ribs too.
We used tongs and scissors to cut up the ribs so they were easy to eat. The sauce was soaked in just enough that a bite of meat followed by a bite of gondre rice (dried gondre-namul mixed rice) was exactly right. The gondre rice especially came out light and fluffy, so mixing it a little into the spicy broth was totally my style, hehe.

Bongpyeong buckwheat pancake: bigger than you expect
The Bongpyeong buckwheat pancake was so huge, it was seriously delicious. Cutting it up like a pizza and wrapping bites with it was the absolute best.

Ugh, the gondre rice — why is it so good. They gave us a lot of rice too, so eating a whole bowl with the braised ribs made me super full, haha. If two women go together, splitting it in half would probably work well too.
Among the meat restaurants in Baekseok-dong, being able to eat spicy braised ribs together with gondre rice like this feels like Jimidang's charm. I went looking for an Ilsan braised rib restaurant and ended up with a filling, satisfying meal ><

You cut up the ribs with scissors and tongs to make them easy to eat, and the table screen even shows how to eat the braised ribs the tasty way, which was handy to reference. The spicy sauce blended so well into the meat that even I, who came looking for an Ilsan braised rib restaurant, enjoyed every bite. It was a menu that lived up to being a hearty meal near Baekseok Station. Seriously so good, ㅜㅜ

It's fine to eat plain, but adding a little of the spicy braised rib broth on top made it even better. The combo of the spicy sauce with the plain gondre rice kept pulling me back for another bite. This place would suit anyone wanting a proper rice-and-meat meal at a Baekseok-dong restaurant.

Jimidang's atmosphere and the Naver review event
The restaurant was pretty clean, and having an ordering screen at every table was convenient. Hair ties and dental floss were set aside separately too, which gave a small but thoughtful impression. They said joining the Naver review event lets you add extra toppings, so it might be worth checking when you visit.

The grapefruit ade was also really tasty...
Being able to adjust the spice level meant we could eat it exactly to our taste, and pairing the braised ribs with gondre rice made for a pretty hearty meal. Next time I'm looking for a meat restaurant near Baekseok Station and craving something spicy, I think Jimidang's Ilsan braised ribs will come to mind again. If you're into spicy food and searching for an Ilsan braised rib restaurant, this one's worth keeping in mind :)
The owner was also super kind and the food was delicious, so it's one of those places that always leaves me in a good mood after eating ><
