4th anniversary course dinner in Haenggung-dong, Suwon: Hado
In short
Hado is a reservation-only course restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. For their fourth anniversary dinner, the writer and her husband booked the basic course for two, swapped one main to chuck flap steak and added an Earl Grey ade, working through a pea tart and a sweet shrimp apple tart, minari (water dropwort) yuzu bisque pasta, steaks served on warmed plates and a chilled Earl Grey ice cream. I wanted to have a slightly special dinner with my husband one weekend evening, so I'm introducing Hado, a course restaurant in Haenggung-dong, Suwon that I visited. It's been four years since we met, so I went as an anniversary date, and beyond the food, the atmosphere and plating made it a great spot for a date. We added an Earl Grey ade to the basic course for two, and swapped one of the mains for chuck flap steak. Here's an honest rundown of everything we ate, the vibe, the course structure, and the price range.
Where Hado is in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, and its opening hours

Hado is a course restaurant on the 1st floor of 138 Hyanggyo-ro, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, South Korea. It's open Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00–21:30, with a break from 14:20–16:00 and last order at 20:00. On Mondays it runs dinner only, 16:00–21:30. Wi-Fi, reservations, group seating, easy payment, and parking are all available.

Hado sits in the Haenggung-dong area of Suwon. My husband and I visited on a weekend evening.
This visit wasn't about a quick weeknight dinner — I wanted somewhere with a bit more atmosphere to sit and eat slowly for our anniversary. Hado runs on reservations only, so I'd recommend booking ahead. We had booked in advance too, and since it was a weekend evening, quite a few other diners were there when we arrived.
Inside Hado: open kitchen and seating

The interior was calm and stylish overall. It wasn't too bright or loud, so it was easy to sit and talk with my husband while we ate slowly. It seemed like a great spot to visit on a day when you want a meal that feels a little more special than usual, like a date or anniversary. Since it's an open kitchen, we could see the food being prepared to some extent.

Cutlery and a course description were already set at each seat. There were no assigned seats, so we could sit wherever we liked.

The course was chosen at reservation, and the staff just confirmed our order. We went with the basic course for two, with one main swapped to chuck flap steak, and added an Earl Grey ade partway through the meal.

Starters at Hado: pea tart and sweet shrimp apple tart
The first thing to arrive in Hado's basic course was the pea tart and sweet shrimp apple tart. The plating caught my eye right away — you could see all the ingredients at a glance inside the pretty tarts.

We were told to eat the pea tart first, then the sweet shrimp one. They were bite-sized, so I just picked them up and ate them in one go. I expected something a bit healthy-tasting from a pea dish, but it was nuttier and softer than I imagined. The tart shell was thin and crisp, which contrasted nicely with the soft peas.
The sweet shrimp apple tart combined the sweet, soft flavor of the shrimp with the apple's tart sweetness — an unexpectedly good match.

Second course: minari yuzu bisque pasta
Next up was the minari (water dropwort) yuzu bisque pasta from Hado's basic course. The plating looked lovely the moment it arrived.

True to its name, the pasta had a subtle minari and yuzu aroma. It wasn't heavy overall, and the minari flavor worked better than I expected. The shrimp especially stood out — soft, with the shrimp flavor really coming through — it was delicious.

The drink they added: Earl Grey ade
This is the Earl Grey ade we ordered mid-meal. I usually like Earl Grey-flavored drinks, so I picked it right off the menu. The distinct Earl Grey aroma was strong — it felt like drinking a non-alcoholic Earl Grey highball, and since I'm a fan of Earl Grey, I enjoyed every sip.

Mains: chuck flap steak and chicken breast steak
And here's the main course I was most looking forward to that day. Since we were there for our anniversary date, I wanted to try both mains.

The plating was clean, with the sauce and garnish arranged together, making it very photogenic. They'd even thought to warm the plate to keep the meat's temperature up — the plate stayed warm, so I could enjoy it right to the last bite.

The meat itself was tender, and since I'm a salt-only steak person normally, I was surprised how well it went with the red wine sauce it came with — very memorable!
The chicken breast steak was shaped and sous vide cooked. It was so tender for chicken breast that I thought it might actually be tenderloin.

The crispy topping on top gave a nice textural contrast, so I enjoyed it all the way through. Eating this course made me curious about Hado's signature seasonal course too. It feels like the kind of place you start with the basic course, then come back for the seasonal one.

Dessert to finish: Earl Grey ice cream
The last course, Earl Grey ice cream, also arrived on a chilled plate, so it stayed enjoyable to the very last spoonful. The Earl Grey aroma was strong, and the caramel sauce brought out the sweetness, so you got both the fragrance and the sweetness together — genuinely one of the best ice creams I've had. The cookie served alongside it was great too. My husband and I even said we wished they'd sell the ice cream on its own.

When we finished eating, we just left our card on the table and a staff member came over to take payment, along with disposable mouthwash. Since we'd come for a date, these small details felt really thoughtful.
Is Hado a good anniversary date restaurant in Haenggung-dong, Suwon?
What I liked about eating at Hado wasn't just the taste of the food, but how the whole process of each course arriving became part of the dining experience itself. Hado felt like a great fit for a date or anniversary meal. If you're looking for a restaurant with good atmosphere in Haenggung-dong, I'd recommend it.
