Beef omakase in Suwon Ingye-dong: 5-cut Selection Set at Woowine
In short
Woowine is a bar-style Korean beef (hanwoo) omakase restaurant on Ingye-ro 166beon-gil in Ingye-dong, Suwon. The Woowine Selection Set 450g for two costs 185,000 won and runs from hanwoo gomtang (beef bone soup) and four bite-sized starters through five cuts — saeusal (shoulder tender), sirloin, mitganssal, eopjinsal (brisket), bucheatsal (top blade) — all grilled by the staff, then bibim guksu (spicy cold noodles) and pear sherbet. Woowine suits a date or anniversary since you never touch the grill, but the building lot is small and the lane narrow, so a nearby public parking lot is the safer choice.

Today I visited a place where you can enjoy hanwoo (Korean beef) in a slightly special way in Ingye-dong, Suwon 🥩

It's called Woowine! Instead of just grilling meat like a typical BBQ place, you get to enjoy everything in order — bite-sized dishes, hanwoo, a meal course, and dessert — so it seemed like a great spot for an anniversary or date ☺️ We ordered the Woowine Selection Set for two and got to try a variety of hanwoo cuts one by one haha. Let me show you!

What Woowine's entrance and counter interior look like
Woowine's atmosphere is pretty distinctive from the entrance. The overall exterior is dark, with a golden sign and door as the standout feature! It caught my eye even from a distance 👀 Even before going in, it felt more like a moody dining bar than a typical BBQ place, which made me curious about the interior haha.

Inside, it's dark and calm just like outside. The seating is arranged in a long bar-style layout, so you can watch the staff grill your meat right in front of you! There was even a video playing on one wall, which made it feel more like a nice bar than a BBQ restaurant ✨ Since you sit side by side, it seems like a great fit for anyone looking for a date spot in Ingye-dong ෆ
Woowine hours, parking and reservations in Ingye-dong
- ⏰ Hours: Closed every Monday and Tuesday / Wed–Fri 17:00–23:00 / Sat–Sun 13:00–23:00 (break time 16:00–17:00)
- 🚘 Parking: Available in the building where the restaurant is located
- 🗓️ Reservations: Available via Naver Reservation
+ But parking was really tough ㅠㅠ I'm known by everyone as a self-proclaimed best driver, but there were very few parking spots and the road was extremely narrow, so I'd recommend beginner drivers park at a nearby public lot instead ㅠㅠㅠ ෆ
Woowine Selection Set 450g for two: 185,000 won

The menu ranged from hanwoo sets to individual cuts. What we chose that day was the Woowine Selection Set 450g / ₩185,000! It was described as a set made up of four or more of the best hanwoo cuts, with the exact cuts subject to change depending on availability. We got to try several cuts in sequence 🥩
🍽️ How the table is set
When we sat down, the first thing that caught my eye was the neatly set table! From the plates to the spoons and chopsticks, everything matched the overall mood, and it felt like they paid attention to even the small details haha. There was also something next to it that I initially thought, what is this...? It turned out to be a coin tissue lol. When you pour water on it, the tissue puffs up — a thoughtful touch for washing your hands before the meal 👍🏻
Course opener: hanwoo gomtang and four bite-sized starters
🍲 First dish: hanwoo gomtang (beef bone soup)

Before diving into the main food, hanwoo gomtang (beef bone soup) came out first. It's served warm in a small cup, and after a sip, the broth turned out to be much richer than expected! Starting with a warm, deep broth felt like the perfect way to get ready for the real meal lol. A great opening dish to open up the appetite before the main course.
🌸 The four bite-sized starters

And then came the bite-sized dishes, which were gorgeous from the moment they arrived! There was even a small flower vase placed in the middle, so the plating caught my eye right away 👀 That day's lineup was salmon, yukhoe (beef tartare) corn rolls, scallop fritters wrapped in gamtae (seaweed), and shrimp jeon — four in total. Each was bite-sized, perfect for a light taste before the meat, and each had a totally different flavor and texture, which made it fun to eat. The yukhoe corn roll in particular, with crispy corn and soft tartare, and the gamtae-wrapped scallop fritter with its crispy texture and seaweed aroma, both stood out to me haha. After the shrimp jeon and salmon, and we hadn't even started on the meat yet, it really felt like eating a full course meal...♡
Five hanwoo cuts grilled by the Woowine staff
🥩 The Selection Set for two, plated

And finally, today's star arrived! I tried to take a photo, but the moment they put the meat down, the marbling was just... ෆ Our Woowine Selection Set was arranged so we could try several hanwoo cuts one after another. Mushrooms were served alongside the meat, and since the staff grill each cut themselves, all we had to do was wait until it was cooked perfectly and then eat!! The grilling service is always the best ෆ
🥗 Sides served alongside the hanwoo

Along with the meat, side dishes to go with it were also served. There was white kimchi, mu-saengchae (radish salad), and a vegetable salad, plus three types of sauce you could pair with the meat as you liked. Trying each cut plain and then with a bit of sauce made the same hanwoo feel completely different. Personally, I'd recommend trying the first piece plain, without dipping it in anything haha.
🥩 Cut one: saeusal (shoulder tender)

The first cut grilled for us was saeusal. The staff grilled it right on the pan to just the right doneness, and watching it while waiting was honestly the hardest part 😝 Taking a bite, I felt the tender texture and a rush of savory juiciness right away!! The first cut was already so intense that I got even more excited for what was coming 👀
🥩 Cut two: sirloin

Next was the sirloin! Grilled right after the saeusal, with the surface browned nicely while the inside stayed juicy — cooked to just the right point. With each chew, I could taste that distinct savory hanwoo flavor, and it had a different beefy aroma from the saeusal, making it fun to compare cuts. It also paired nicely with a little white kimchi on top :)
🥩 Cut three: mitganssal (pre-seasoned cut)

The third cut we tried was mitganssal. Since each cut is grilled fresh as soon as it changes, we got to eat each piece right at its most delicious moment, which was definitely a plus. It was also fun comparing the texture and aroma against the previous cuts. With several sauces on hand, we tried pairing it a little differently each time haha.
🥩 Cut four: eopjinsal (brisket)

Next up was brisket! Even before it was grilled, the marbled fat looked delicious on the pan 👀 Once cooked, the savory flavor really came through, and with each chew there was more juiciness — this ended up being one of my favorite cuts personally. By this point, even eating slowly one piece at a time, I started to feel full lol.
🥩 Cut five: bucheatsal (top blade)

The last cut we tried was hanger steak! They placed a large piece with clear, vivid marbling on the pan, and it looked amazing right to the end ✨ Since the staff grilled everything for us, we didn't have to worry about the doneness and could just relax and chat while eating, which I really appreciated. Getting to try multiple cuts in sequence instead of eating just one kind the whole time meant we never got tired of it, all the way through.
Finishing the course: bibim guksu and pear sherbet
🍜 Bibim guksu (spicy cold noodles)

After eating a good amount of meat, you start craving something spicy, right lol. To finish, we got bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles)! After all that meat, things could've felt a bit greasy, but the spicy-tangy noodles refreshed my palate completely. Adding a leftover piece of meat on top made for an obviously delicious combo...♡ You just can't resist the meat-then-noodles combo haha.
🍐 Dessert: pear sherbet

And the true finale: pear sherbet! When it first arrived, I wondered what it was because of the round shape, but opening it revealed pear sherbet inside 🍐 One bite, and it was cool, clean, and had that distinct sweet pear flavor — perfect as a dessert after all that meat. Even after eating my fill of hanwoo and bibim guksu, my spoon just kept going back in lol. It wrapped up the course with a clean, satisfying finish :)
Is Woowine worth booking for a date or anniversary?
This was my first time visiting Woowine, and personally, it felt like the kind of place I'd think of when I want to enjoy hanwoo in a slightly more special way than a typical BBQ restaurant :) I also liked that, in the moody bar-style space, the staff grill every cut for you, so you can eat comfortably without worrying about doneness!
Most of all, it wasn't just about eating hanwoo and being done — there was the fun of going through everything step by step, from the rich hanwoo gomtang to the beautifully plated bite-sized dishes, several cuts of hanwoo, and finally bibim guksu and pear sherbet 🥩 The Woowine Selection Set we had, going from saeusal to sirloin, mitganssal, brisket, and hanger steak, let us compare the flavor and texture of each cut, which was really satisfying haha.
It's on the pricier side, but considering the atmosphere, the food lineup, and the tableside grilling service, it feels better suited to a special meal — like a date or anniversary — than an ordinary meat dinner 🤍 If you've been looking for a Korean beef restaurant with a nice atmosphere or a good BBQ spot for a date in Ingye-dong, Suwon, this one is worth considering :)
