Ansan bakery café for salt bread and croissants: Flowerpot Cafe

I was craving sweet desserts and bread, so I visited Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch, a bakery café in Gojan-dong, Ansan. It felt like such a nice place to visit on a day with a gentle breeze like this lately. It made me want to come with family on the weekend, or on a date with my boyfriend ❤️🤍

As it turns out, it’s known for salt bread, and the salt bread itself was seriously delicious! It’s a large café with a lovely atmosphere, and the wide variety of breads was tasty too, so it was perfect for a date course.

Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch is behind AW Convention near Culture Square in Gojan-dong, Ansan. As a large bakery café, it was spacious with a clean atmosphere. The tables were large and there was plenty of sofa seating, so it looked great for a group gathering or a visit with children.

There are outlets too, making this a good café for working on a laptop or doing kagong (studying at a café)! Since there’s a wedding hall right in front of the café, it seemed like lots of wedding guests stop by after ceremonies on weekends.

Breads sell out early on weekend afternoons

The reason I came to Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch was, of course, the bread~!! There are normally even more kinds, but when I visited around 3 p.m. on a weekend afternoon, lots of breads were already sold out ㅠㅠ I’ll have to come a little earlier on weekends.

Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch is famous for salt bread, and alongside the classic version, there were several kinds, including Wakppu salt bread and hazelnut salt bread.

There were also basic baked goods such as cookies, egg tarts, garlic baguettes, and campagne bread, plus sweet cakes like cheesecake and brownies.

Flowerpot Cafe & Bakery makes its breads fresh in-house every day. Maybe that’s why the sweet, fragrant smell of delicious bread inside the café put me in such a good mood before I had even eaten any~ 😌💐

The sandwiches were thick, and there were set menus including coffee, so they looked good for a simple lunch or dinner too!

There were many breads, including blueberry cream cheese bread, and I was surprised by how generously sized they were and how reasonably priced they seemed..!

I spotted everything from castella sponge cake to brownies and more. Honestly, a whole cake can feel like a lot, while a slice of cake with a cup of coffee is just right~~~~ I love cakes with fruit too, but a slice with just classic whipped cream and cake is delicious too, you know ❤️🤍 Slice cake, forever~~~~

Iced Americano with salt bread

There was a broad drink menu too: coffee, non-coffee drinks, ades, smoothies, teas, and fresh fruit juices. My absolute favorite is salt bread + an iced Americano, and this pairing is the real deal too ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

A croissant with lovely buttery flavor

With one bite of the croissant, the rich, nutty flavor of butter came through gently. It was moist and soft inside, so its crisp-outside, tender-inside charm really stood out. Its gentle sweetness was less rich than I expected, and the balance of nutty butteriness and sweetness was delicious. It paired even better with coffee or chamomile tea.

Fruit juices that are nice to have with children

It’s also good for visiting with children because they have kids’ chairs, plus hallabong citrus juice and 100% real mango juice 🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭 Mango juice or hallabong citrus juice would be great for kids! And would you believe they even have watermelon juice? The fruit juices are the best~~~~ For anyone who doesn’t like coffee, fruit juice toooo 🍇🍈🍉🍌🍎🍓🍇

Red bean butter salt bread and classic salt bread

There are so many different bakery cafés these days, but it’s surprisingly not easy to find one with plenty of bread choices at prices that don’t feel burdensome. At Flowerpot, a variety of bakery items catch your eye the moment you walk in, so bread lovers will have fun choosing one by one! With delicious breads made in-house too, it’s such a happy place for a café stop after a meal! I’m planning to return~ The sandwiches are perfect as a meal substitute too~!

At a bakery café, you can’t leave out sweet red bean buns—the kind you somehow end up putting on your tray, right? With soft bread and sweet red bean filling, it was a classic item that anyone could enjoy easily. Especially when ordering several kinds of bread, choosing a familiar item like this makes it nice to share with people who have different tastes!

The red bean butter salt bread was ₩4,200. I also chose this salt bread filled with red bean paste and butter. The sweet red bean filling and nutty butter made the mild, savory-salty salt bread noticeably more flavorful. If you like sweeter breads, you’ll probably be more satisfied with this one than the classic salt bread, and it paired nicely with coffee too 👏 With salt bread’s characteristic salty flavor, it’s the sort of thing you keep reaching for alongside an iced Americano—I definitely recommend trying it.

The salt bread was ₩2,900. Since this is known as a salt bread spot, I tried the original first. It was mild with a rich, nutty buttery flavor, making it good with coffee. Above all, it was generously sized, so one salt bread felt satisfyingly filling without leaving me wanting more.
