With mid-length hair, the length gets awkward and the ends keep sticking out, making it hard to style — so I went to Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch on a weekday afternoon for a layered C-curl perm! (with Junior Stylist Yeonjae)

For mid-length hair in my 20s, I wanted a natural C-curl that's easy to manage rather than a heavily curled style. The salon is between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's easy to reach, and I got it done with the Re-Born repair perm, which combines a regular perm with hair care~

Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is a hair salon located between Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 5 and Gangnam Station. The public transit access was really good!

The shop is on the 2nd floor of the building — take the elevator on the right side of the building and you're right there~

The interior was mostly white-toned overall, so it felt clean and modern. There were quite a few customers getting head spas, and I could see several international customers too.

When you come in, they first prepare a welcome tea and have you fill out a questionnaire about the hair you want. After picking what you want, like cut and perm, you consult and get told the full price. Being able to know the total cost before the treatment starts made it easy to begin without worrying about extra charges.

What happens during a Re-Born repair perm with hair care?

What I got done this time at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch was the Re-Born repair perm, and the process is a bit different from a regular perm. They check the hair condition carefully first and then do step-by-step care alongside it!

The first step started with Shiseido shampoo.

After that, I got care with Shiseido care products mixed with Ahyunche ampoule. The ampoule and a pH balancer were also used together, along with a heat protectant, all done step by step.

Perms take quite a while, so in the middle you get to pick a drink and snacks. They even drew a cute cat, haha. Since you have to sit for a long time, it's nice to be able to take breaks in between!

The mid-length layered C-curl perm process step by step

I wanted to keep my mid-length hair the same length while making the layers look natural. They put a light C-curl in the ends and kept it neat without going overboard.

With mid-length hair, if the curl goes in too strong, the length can look shorter and feel like too much. Personally, I liked a natural level of C-curl better since it's easier to style day to day!

Finally, after rinsing, they finish by applying Ahyunche deep repairing cream to the hair~

Comparing the finished hair from the back, the layers looked much more defined. The ends had a naturally set C-curl too, so the hair that used to stick out felt much more put together.

Afterward there was a space set up for taking a commemorative photo, so I took one! The lighting was good so the photos came out nice, haha.

Even from the front, the curl doesn't stand out too much, so it feels fine for everyday work too!
