The restaurant from the street

This Sangbong pork belly spot is about a five-minute walk from Exit 7 of Sangbong Station on line 7. Right from the entrance you notice the soju/beer 2+1 promotion — nice touch! If you're a drinker, this place will make you very happy.
Inside Super Naengsam: the self-bar and unlimited minari
What the dining room looks like

The interior was really sleek and clean. The silver stainless tables kept things tidy, and best of all the tables were big, so it felt super comfortable 🧡

There's also a self-bar you can freely help yourself from! Minari (water dropwort) in particular is unlimited, which I'm sure is a big plus for anyone who loves frozen pork belly haha.
What we ordered at Super Naengsam and what it cost: 9,900 won a serving

Being the food doctor that I am, we ordered:
- 1. Frozen pork belly x3 servings
- 2. Super tteokbokki
- 3. Rice
- 4. Self-fried rice
- 5. Kimchi jjigae
That's what we went with! One reason this Sangbong pork belly restaurant is so famous is the low price. These days a serving of frozen pork belly runs ₩15,000 almost everywhere, so ₩9,900 at Super Naengsam is amazing value, right ㅜㅜ?? Just note you have to order at least 3 servings!
The banchan and table setting

The basic side dish setting was really generous too. So many different banchan came out the table nearly buckled — if you like picking and choosing among lots of sides, I highly recommend it!
Three servings of frozen pork belly: portion size and how to grill it

Finally, today's main event! The pork belly!!!! They even topped it with mushrooms — I was genuinely touched ㅜㅜ

You can't really tell the amount from above, but seen from the side like this you can tell the portion is really generous.

Let's get this good-quality meat onto the grill right away!! Sprinkle some pepper over the meat,
and pile kimchi, bean sprouts, garlic, and minari onto the spot where the fat drips, letting it all sizzle away. Vegetables really are tastiest grilled in meat fat haha.

At first I recommend eating the meat on its own, dipped in salt. The savory pork and the salty tang together were so good ㅜ. The naengsam's meat quality is so good on its own that it's delicious even without anything else!

How were the super tteokbokki and kimchi jjigae?
The tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) we ordered earlier!! You might think, pork belly with tteokbokki?? but the spicy rice cakes paired with it were really delicious ㅜ. The tteokbokki itself was excellent too ㅜ

This is the kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew). Eating meat without having stew alongside? That should count as a crime. This kimchi jjigae had a ton of ingredients! That says a lot about how generous the owner is. Truly deserving of its reputation as a Sangbong pork belly favorite.. 👍

They also gave us plain white rice

Mix the stew generously into the rice and take a big bite.. this right here is paradise, heaven itself — what more could you need ㅜㅜ

Eat some rice, and in between wrap up some meat in lettuce too. The fresh lettuce wraps are unlimited as well, and topping tender meat with various grilled vegetables adds texture, making it even more harmonious and delicious 💕

Finishing with self-made fried rice
Finishing off with fried rice!!! At Super Naengsam you fry the rice yourself, so you can control how well-done you want it! Toss in plenty of kimchi and bean sprouts, drizzle in sesame oil, stir-fry the rice, and top with seaweed flakes to finish! From start to finish it was such a happy experience! If you love drinking, the low prices make it even better!
