Today I'm getting my hair, which won't bounce back no matter how hard I try, cared for by a professional~ I've dyed it whatever color I wanted for two years, so now I'm going to cut it all off and try a magic setting perm~ (There's a reason the title says inner clinic and layered cut instead, isn't there?! ㅜㅜ)

Deputy director Baekha and the state of my bleached hair

I made a reservation at Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo and went in! The designer in charge of my hair was deputy director Baekha~

Regular readers already know the state of my hair right now (bleached, self-dyed, and flat-ironed on top~). Everyone, please be careful with bleaching~ :)👏 I didn't know the aftermath would last this long...haha. Maybe because it's so damaged, it's basically turned curly on its own 🥲

What is Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo like inside?

The treatment area has a full 🪟 window view so it doesn't feel stuffy at all, and I loved that! It's a bit compact, but the service was the same as other branches!

These days a lot of salons offer tea and snacks by default, and even when the treatment takes a long time, it gives you that café-like feeling! 😉👍

At the Apgujeong Rodeo branch, the restroom isn't inside the salon, but it's right outside the door and it's pretty spacious and clean~

Two years into bleaching: is a magic setting perm possible?

Let's try it after winter! For now, let's just trim the damaged ends a bit and do Biorn Hair's inner clinic to at least tame the frizz 🙌

So my magic setting perm got pushed to next time! And it turned out that getting the inner keratin clinic & layered cut instead was a masterstroke. (Why?! I'll explain later ~ >_<~)

It looks calm because I flat-ironed it a little before coming, but the actual state of my hair right now is peak dryness and frizz❗️

What is the inner keratin clinic? Process and how long it takes

The inner keratin clinic is apparently a patented bonding treatment that firmly fills in the keratin protein structure that forms the internal framework of the hair. Time required: 2 hours including the cut!

Roughly, the process starts with a shampoo, then filling in protein for about 5 minutes!

Applying the keratin protein! This step seems to be the key. They repeated it twice, which took about 20 minutes — a process that raises the protein density inside the hair — and steam heat treatment reinforced how long it lasts! Right about the time I was starting to doze off~

They also loosened up my shoulders with a scalp massage machine — felt like a healing spa visit~ Seems like exactly the right care to go with the inner keratin course!

The shampoo room was also fully private, one person at a time~ And get this — the shampoo bed is basically a massage chair that works your whole body!✨ Just lying there, the machine works on your calves, hips, waist, all the way up to your back~ It didn't feel like a hair salon at all, more like an aesthetic spa, and I came out feeling healed head to toe with no boring moments~ :)

Layered cut after: how did the bleached hair turn out?

The final review once the cut was finished! I loved the blow-dry they gave it so much

Doesn't the back look almost like it's permed?! Whenever I've asked for a layered cut at other salons, it always fell 2% short — but deputy director Baekha's cutting style is exactly my taste. This place is a cut spot for sure~ (everyone kept asking where I got it done, haha ✌️) Sure, some of it is the effect of the styling and blow-dry, but 😉 I also asked for the front bangs to look full and fall naturally, and she cut it just the right amount~ The ends still need a trim later, so once I curl them with a C-curl iron I think it'll look exactly like this!

Thanks to the final keratin clinic, I got to see my glossy, shiny hair again!!👏

It's wild 👍 this must be why people get clinics done!

Does the keratin clinic hold up after washing at home?

I worried it would all disappear after washing my hair... but now even after shampooing, frizzy hair is a thing of the past~ I can run my fingers through it like a comb!
