What kind of café is Something About Coffee? (between Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam stations)
Wanted good food and good coffee, so I headed to the biggest dessert café near Gangnam Station! Visited Something About Coffee, a dessert café in a 3-floor building between Sinnonhyeon Station and Gangnam Station. Something about coffee!!! This place is a dessert paradise! The coffee's good, but the baked goods are the real star!
French gourmet butter, French chocolate, Guérande salt, Finnish cream cheese, 100% dairy whipped cream, French black tea leaves, 100% almonds — this place is thoughtful about the ingredients it uses.

Something About Coffee is open daily from 11 AM to 10:30 PM. Hall seating is until 10 PM. Seems to run with no days off! Good good.
Order on the 2nd floor, sit on floors 1 to 3
You can use floors 1 through 3, but you order on the 2nd floor. The moment you step onto the 2nd floor, your eyes go wild. Madeleines, financiers, scones, pound cakes, cookies and more — all plated so beautifully. Flowers scattered in between make it feel classy and fit right in.
Matcha cream cold brew 7,500 won and iced americano 6,500 won
First things first, grab a seat and order the coffee. Something About Coffee is known for its cream lattes, so I debated between the black sesame cream latte and the matcha cream cold brew, and picked the matcha cream latte — er, cold brew — for ₩7,500. My friend got an iced americano for ₩6,500.
Pistachio cheesecake 9,600 won from the showcase
The showcase was full of cakes. Made with 100% dairy whipped cream, so ordering a cake here is just the smart move! Fig cream sando, Mont Blanc cheesecake, yellow cheesecake, fresh blueberry cheesecake, black sesame fig cheesecake and more — but what I picked was the pistachio cheesecake! ₩9,600. Highly recommend this one.
Second-floor seats and the baked goods lineup
The 2nd floor has lots of indoor seating and feels pleasant, plus there's terrace seating too. From sliced pound cakes to financiers to cookies, the variety is wide and everything looks delicious. This place is a baked-goods spot. Confirmed.

Since it had been a while since it was just the two of us at a café, we also bought financiers — the original and the choco salt. We photographed these two and packed them up to take home.
Snapped a photo because the matcha cream dripping down the cold brew looked so pretty! With this kind of cream latte, the trick is not to stir it — savor the rich matcha cream first, then drink it together with the coffee.
How quiet is Something About Coffee on a weekday afternoon?
My friend took this shot of our table. Going on a weekday afternoon meant we could sit comfortably without a crowd — always nice. Seeing such a pretty plating just puts you in a good mood.
How does the pistachio cheesecake taste?
The pistachio cheesecake was just insane. Ultra super amazing. A luxurious texture, not-too-sweet dairy whipped cream, and real pistachios plus crumble on top — genuinely delicious!
Mid-bite I remembered I had somewhere to be, so I quickly wrapped up, packed the financiers, and headed home! Next time I'll bring my friend and get the hojicha choux milk tea with a cake! Something About Coffee is so good!
