Yongin gastropub, blanket patio and jjapaghetti hot pot: Bacha Suji

In short

Bacha Suji Branch is a gastropub on Pungdeokcheon-ro 129beon-gil near Suji-gu Office in Yongin, Gyeonggi, open daily from 17:00 to 02:00. On the outdoor patio, where blankets are handed out and lamps go up after dark, the beef brisket and tendon hot pot arrived with a rich broth kept clean by minari (water dropwort), and the tendon still had its bouncy chew. Anyone who likes a hot pot with noodles should order the brisket-tendon hot pot plus the beef brisket jjapaghetti (black bean noodles) together at Bacha Suji Branch.

Today I'm introducing a great spot near Suji-gu Office for a drink with delicious side dishes haha — it's Bacha Suji Branch!

What kind of gastropub is Bacha Suji Branch in Yongin?

Bacha Suji Branch is a gastropub near Suji-gu Office with a wide range of anju (drinking snacks) — from hot pots to pasta, chicken, and seafood. Atmosphere matters when picking a bar, but for me the food quality is what really makes or breaks the experience!

With such a varied menu, it also looked like a great spot for groups.

Since it's open late, it seems like a solid choice for a second round, not just the first :)

It has that atmospheric gastropub feel, so it's comfortable for drinks with friends and not too much for a date either!

What we ordered: beef brisket-tendon hot pot and beef brisket jjapaghetti

It's a bar but the menu is quite varied, so it feels more like a proper place to enjoy anju rather than just drink haha. Among them, the beef brisket-tendon hot pot is one of Bacha's signature dishes.

It's loaded with brisket, tendon, minari, and bean sprouts! And when you're a bit hungry or craving carbs, beef brisket jjapaghetti is the perfect add-on. We ordered both together 😋

How does the beef brisket and tendon hot pot taste?

First up, the beef brisket-tendon hot pot!🍲 The pot was packed with brisket and tendon, topped with bean sprouts and minari — the visuals alone made me want a drink haha. Since it simmers as you eat, you can enjoy it warm at the table for a long time.👏🏻👏🏻

The broth was quite deep and rich, with the savory fat from the brisket blending with the tendon's intense flavor. The fragrant minari kept the broth from feeling too heavy, which I really liked.

The tendon especially 👍🏻👍🏻 had that bouncy, chewy texture in full effect — fun to chew on. The brisket was soft and savory, and eating it with the broth made for a great pairing with drinks haha.

Dipping it in the accompanying sauce brings out even more flavor haha!

As we were enjoying it, it got a bit dark, and the staff immediately set up a lamp for us! (Nice touch..) It was great being able to enjoy the outdoor seating without it feeling too dark. Haha.

Is the beef brisket jjapaghetti worth adding to the hot pot?

The hot pot alone might feel a little lacking, right? So we also ordered beef brisket jjapaghetti 🍜

The rich, savory black bean sauce that jjapaghetti (Korea's instant black bean noodle dish) is known for got even more savory and intense with the brisket added in. The sauce clung thickly to the noodles, and the first bite was that familiar-yet-delicious taste haha.

Kimchi came with it too, so it wasn't too rich to eat! How did they know I'm a kimchi lover and serve it right on time haha.

Honestly, jjapaghetti is hard to mess up, but adding brisket feels almost unfair 😂 The greasy savoriness of the brisket pairs surprisingly well with the black bean sauce.

A bite of hot pot broth followed by a bite of jjapaghetti — great combo! Especially when you're a bit full from drinking and start craving carbs haha. That's exactly the moment for this dish!!! If you're ordering the beef brisket-tendon hot pot, I really recommend adding the beef brisket jjapaghetti too! The combination is great~!
