Where is Teppan King, the Seomyeon teppanyaki bar?
Teppan King is a Japanese-style teppanyaki bar at 722-4 Jungang-daero, 1st floor, Busanjin-gu, Busan, near Exit 4 of Seomyeon Station. It's open Sunday through Thursday from 16:00 to 02:00, and Friday and Saturday from 15:00 to 02:00.
When a friend said let's go to Japan, I went looking for somewhere in Seomyeon that could give me a real taste of Japanese teppanyaki instead — and ended up at Teppan King!! It's known as a place where you can taste okonomiyaki done right, and after eating it myself, I understood why so many people come here. If you're looking for a Seomyeon Station bar or a Seomyeon izakaya, this is one I'd recommend.

Special okonomiyaki, 15,000 won with chili peppers added
I ordered Teppan King's signature special okonomiyaki (₩15,000) with chili added, and the shrimp okonomiyaki (₩14,000) with cheese added. The special okonomiyaki is packed with shrimp, squid, and pork, so every bite had a different texture. The umami from the seafood and the savory depth of the pork blended together for a really rich flavor.

Chili added, please!

Adding the chili brought a gentle spiciness that cut through the richness nicely. The shrimp okonomiyaki with cheese had a whole different charm, with the savory, soft flavor of the cheese layered in. Honestly, it suited my taste 100 times better than the okonomiyaki I've had in Japan.
Being able to eat the okonomiyaki hot off the griddle made it even better. The outside was nicely golden and the inside soft, with the sauce and mayo blending naturally into the ingredients. The portions were pretty filling too, so it worked well as both a meal and a drinking snack. This kind of menu lineup made me think it works equally well as a Seomyeon Station bar or a nice-atmosphere Seomyeon izakaya.

Kobe-style wagyu flap steak, 100g for 30,000 won
We also ordered the Kobe-style wagyu flap steak, 100g for ₩30,000. It's described as top-grade wagyu with rich umami and tenderness grilled on the teppan, and the meat really was incredibly tender. It wasn't chewy at all, went down smoothly, and had a deep, satisfying flavor from the meat itself.

Ordering the okonomiyaki and the wagyu steak together turned out to be a great combination. We got to enjoy the warmth and savory aroma unique to teppanyaki while experiencing a range of flavors. It's a good lineup whether you visit as a couple or come with a group to share the menu! (Seriously, it was so much tastier than what I had in Japan!!

Teppan King seating: groups, couples and solo drinks
Teppan King first opened in Yulha, Gimhae in 2016, moved to the Jeonpo Café Street area of Seomyeon in 2022, and then relocated near Exit 4 of Seomyeon Station in March 2025. It's run by a teppanyaki specialist with 35 years of experience, and you could really feel that polish in the food!!
You can enjoy upscale Japanese-style dishes alongside teppanyaki, and reservations and group bookings are available. There's a room for up to 8 people, group seating for up to 20, a standing bar table, couple seats, and solo seats, so it works well for gatherings, dates, or even a solo drink. Takeout and paid corkage are also available, so it's worth checking before you go.

Is Teppan King in Seomyeon worth a visit?
Teppan King is a teppanyaki spot where I got to thoroughly enjoy both okonomiyaki and wagyu steak!! If you want something different to eat in Seomyeon, or you're after a warm teppanyaki meal with a good drink, I'd recommend Teppan King as your Seomyeon Station bar or Seomyeon izakaya.
