Anseong café for drip coffee and Oreo cake with kids: Chat Baker
In short
Chat Baker is a two-story brunch and bakery café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi. Visiting on a Sunday afternoon at 1pm with kids, the writer sat at a floor-seating table upstairs and tried a caffè latte, Indonesian Java Frinsa Collective drip coffee, mille-feuille croissant, Oreo cake, olive ciabatta, crumble cake and lemonade. It was crowded but never cramped thanks to the sheer number of seats, and picking through the bakery case was half the fun.

First floor: the vibe and seating
I couldn't believe a café with this much atmosphere was so close to home...

True to being a large café, the interior was really spacious. The first floor overall had a relaxed yet stylish mood, so the space itself felt clean and roomy. The tables weren't crammed together and there were all kinds of seats, so it seemed like a great spot to spend easy time with kids. I visited around 1pm on a Sunday and was still able to use the space comfortably. (There were tons of people, but there were just as many seats.)

The 2nd-floor floor-seating tables, comfy with kids
The second floor was even bigger and more relaxed than the first! Black and wood-toned tables were arranged in harmony, giving it a clean yet warm feeling. There were various types of seats too, so it was easy to settle in comfortably depending on your taste! Most of the family customers with kids were sitting at the floor-seating tables haha. I also comfortably grabbed a floor-seating table! With kids, this kind of seating really is the easiest.

The menu lineup
Already excited just looking at the menu

This is a place that runs a wide range of filter coffee, espresso drinks and non-coffee options. They also sell bingsu (shaved ice dessert).

The brunch and dinner menu was varied too — pasta, risotto, even gnocchi! This time we only had café items, but next time I'll have to come back for brunch haha.
What we ordered
Every bakery item looked delicious so while picking I ended up piling on quite a lot haha.
Drinks – caffè latte, Java Frinsa drip coffee, lemonade
The caffè latte passed with flying colors! The coffee itself was tasty and the milk was nutty and paired well. The Indonesian Java Frinsa Collective was a drip coffee where the nuttiness of roasted almonds blended beautifully with a black tea aroma — really delicious. The lemonade was seriously refreshing. Surprisingly so haha.
Mille-feuille croissant
This was my number one pick among everything I ordered. Moderately sweet, with layers that stayed distinct and shattered crisply when I bit in — the texture was just great.

Oreo cake
The Oreo cake was my number two! The cake itself was moist and delicious, and paired with the soft chocolate it was sweet without being heavy. On top of that, the crunch of the Oreo added a nice texture — I enjoyed it a lot!

Olive ciabatta
The bread was chewy yet moist, and the more I chewed the more a nutty flavor came through. It wasn't overpowering and had a clean taste, so it went well with the coffee too. (They also had a cheese ciabatta — I'll have to try that next time!)

Crumble cake
It had a nutty, crisp crumble with blueberries mixed in, which added a refreshing note that I really liked.
Wrap-up
Chat Baker had such a wide variety of bread, and everything was delicious, so there was real fun in choosing! The space was also spacious and comfortable, making it great to visit with kids. Next time I'll have to come back for the brunch, which looked delicious too haha. If you're looking for a large café in the Pyeongtaek-Anseong area, I recommend Chat Baker!
