Anseong café with water-curtain window and millefeuille pastry: Chat
In short
Chat Baker is a two-floor brunch bakery café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi. On a weekend detour from a furniture store trip, the writer had two lattes (one decaf), millefeuille pastry, and butter toast, and was struck by the floor-to-ceiling window with water streaming down it like a waterfall. With wide seating gaps and ample parking, it's a great low-key stop for family or friends.

Here's my review of Chat Baker, a café out in the Gyeonggi suburbs that I visited over the weekend. There's a warehouse-style furniture store far out in Gyeonggi, and after browsing there it felt like a waste to just head straight home, so I searched for brunch cafés nearby. A bakery café in Gongdo, Anseong came up, and since parking was available, I decided to stop by!
The weather has turned into that gorgeous high autumn sky now. It's honestly amazing how the weather changes. Looks like the scorching, scorching summer is finally coming to an end haha.

Chat Baker parking info
- If you turn down the alley by Chat Baker, there's a shared parking lot that several shops use together
- There seems to be a parking attendant on duty too, so you don't need to worry about parking
When I visited, there were plenty of open spots, but as more people clearly poured in during the afternoon, the lot looked almost full by the time I left. Let's get right into this new Anseong café, Chat Baker.

Hours and atmosphere
Here are the hours for Chat Baker, the brunch café in Gongdo, Anseong: 9 AM to 10 PM. Nice and generous. Opening at 9 AM means it's perfect timing for the aunties coming in for brunch. On weekends, it felt like a lot of families were dropping by.
The space is really spacious, with the whole 1st and 2nd floors in use, and the gaps between seats are wide, giving it a very private feel. I'm really not a fan of tiny cafés where you're packed in close and can hear the people next to you. I need my privacy... I don't want to share my conversation and I don't want to hear anyone else's either lol.

The interior is this spacious lol. They could probably fit more seats in, but I appreciate that they kept it roomy. Going up to the 2nd floor felt like a bit of a hassle, so I just sat on the 1st floor to eat.

They sell loaves of bread too haha. Since they bake it in-house, the bread all looks super fresh.

The interior is clean and clutter-free. Exactly my style.

They also sell sandwiches, so you can put together a full brunch menu easily. For anyone who doesn't feel like cooking on the weekend, I'd recommend a brunch café like this for a good time and a meal in one haha.

They're also running an event where you get a salt bread if you leave a review, so leave one and grab yours.

Types of bread and prices
There are so many types of bread here. From sweet breads to the classic soboru bread (crumble-topped bun). The corn cream fresh bread for ₩7,500 looked especially delicious too. Those little bites of corn kernels — so good, right?

The water-curtain window interior
And that floor-to-ceiling window is really unique. Water keeps running down it, and at first I thought, are they cleaning the window or something? But it turned out to be intentional, giving off a waterfall-like feel. It softly blocks the sunlight and gives the whole space such a mood. First time I've ever seen an interior like that!!

A cute buzzer.

What we ordered — two lattes and two breads
I ordered two lattes, one of them decaf, and two breads. Since I'd had a pretty hearty breakfast, I decided to keep lunch light with bread and coffee~

Doesn't this millefeuille pastry look delicious? Kind of like that ribbon bread that's trendy these days — do you know ribbon bread haha? The layers were really vivid and distinct.

And the latte was nutty and delicious too. The syrup settled at the bottom was sweet and tasty.

Let me slice up the bread and try it.

Overall thoughts
This bread lover was happy. The butter toast, spread evenly with butter, tasted like honey! The cakes looked delicious too, and the bread was tasty across the board, so it seemed like a great spot to bring family or friends on the weekend. Grabbing a meal nearby, driving over, parking, eating bread, sipping coffee, chatting away, then heading home — isn't that basically happiness haha.
