Yeonnam-dong wine restaurant for burrata fig salad: Hôtel de Couture
In short
Hôtel de Couture is a Western-style restaurant in a Yeonnam-dong alley in Mapo, Seoul, about 7 minutes on foot from Hongik University Station exit 3. Over a weekday lunch with her mom, the writer ordered house steak, mortadella lemon butter pasta and a burrata seasonal fruit salad with white and red wine, and the fig-and-burrata pairing was the highlight. The calm room suits a date and works just as well for a wedding-invitation get-together.

It's been a while since I took my mom out for an outing in Yeonnam-dong 🙂 We both love hunting down nice-looking Western-style restaurants to eat good food and chat over, and this time, while looking for a date spot in Yeonnam-dong, I found Hôtel de Couture, where you can enjoy everything from steak to pasta to salad, plus wine 💛
The cozy, calm interior made it easy to relax, and everything we ordered suited our taste, so it turned into a leisurely chat with my mom after a long time. So let me walk you through my honest review of Hôtel de Couture in Yeonnam-dong — from the exterior to the interior to the food 🙌
Where is Hôtel de Couture, and where can you park?

Hôtel de Couture is about a 7-minute walk from Hongik University Station exit 3. It's tucked inside an alley but wasn't hard to find ✨ It's on the 2nd floor of the building, and since there's no dedicated parking lot, you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot or the Yeonnam-3 street public parking lot 🚘 If you're planning a trip around Seoul, getting there by public transit is much more convenient.
Inside Hôtel de Couture: mood and seating in Yeonnam-dong

Stepping inside, the cozy, atmospheric interior caught my eye right away ✨ There are tables that seat 6 or more, which would work well for a group gathering like a wedding-invitation meetup, and the calm mood also suited a date or a blind date.

Further inside there's another seating section, so the space felt bigger than I expected 👍 Even on a weekday afternoon, it was pretty busy with customers.
The menu and QR code table ordering at Hôtel de Couture

You order by scanning a QR code at the table, so you can take your time browsing the menu on your phone before ordering 🩵

There's a wide range from pasta to risotto to steak to salad, plus drinks like sodas, juice, and coffee, and for alcohol you can choose between beer and wine 🥂
We ordered the house steak, mortadella lemon butter pasta, burrata seasonal fruit salad, and both white and red wine 🍀
House steak with whole grain mustard and fried onions

Let's start with the house steak 🥩 It came sliced into pieces of a good thickness, easy to eat, and cooked exactly to the doneness I like, so the very first bite was tender. Adding a bit of whole grain mustard brought out a deeper flavor, where the clean meaty taste met a sharp, tangy note 😋 The fried onions served alongside were crispy and light enough to keep picking at, and they went really well as a wine snack too 🥂
What does the mortadella lemon butter pasta taste like?

Next up, the mortadella lemon butter pasta 🍝 The noodles were cooked just right in a sauce with a gentle butter aroma, topped with mortadella and lemon. The mortadella's savory, salty flavor combined with the butter felt rich in the mouth — a combination that could easily turn heavy, but the bright lemon kept the aftertaste surprisingly clean 🤭
Burrata seasonal fruit salad: figs with burrata cheese

It came with a variety of vegetables and a generous ball of burrata cheese, plus fresh figs as the seasonal fruit 🩵 Once I popped the burrata and mixed it through the vegetables and fruit, the softness of the cheese met the gentle sweetness of the fig perfectly 👍 I didn't know a salad could taste this good 🥗
How the wine paired, and the final verdict on Hôtel de Couture

Everything we ordered paired well with wine, both the white and the red 🥂
It had been a while since I properly enjoyed Western food with my mom, and having good food alongside wine made the meal feel even more relaxed. My mom loved everything from the interior to the food and kept praising it, which made the outing even more satisfying for me. If you're looking for a date spot in Yeonnam-dong or a wedding-invitation meetup place near Hongik University, I'd recommend giving Hôtel de Couture a try 🤗
