Seongsu dessert café in Seoul: fig custard crostata at Frolla
In short
Frolla is an Italian-style coffee and brunch café in an alley off Yeonmujang 17-gil in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. Coming in after a full meal, the order at Frolla was only tiramisu, fig custard crostata, an iced americano and a gelato caffè latte, and the crostata was crisp yet soft and never too sweet. For sweet desserts the iced americano is the answer, and the gelato caffè latte is the pick if you want something different.

Where is Frolla, the Seongsu alley café?
Frolla is an Italian-style café at 5 Yeonmujang 17-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor, in an alley slightly off Seongsu-dong's main street. It's open 11:00–19:00, has no parking, and pets are welcome.
Lots of people, lots to see — the café is off the streets crowded with even more Seongsu crowds. Step just a bit away from the main street and you find a quieter side of Seongsu-dong

Even in this relaxed alley, it stands out — a Seongsu coffee & brunch spot

Frolla's bold, colorful interior
Frolla's interior is decorated in bold, vivid colors, so the design really catches your eye. Flashy but not tacky, vivid but not childish.

Frolla's coffee menu: Italian espresso at the center
Frolla's biggest pride is definitely the coffee ☕️
Run by a barista from Italy
True to being an Italian-style café
centered on a properly rich Italian espresso
they have americano, latte, and flat white on the coffee menu, and sell Italian desserts like tiramisu and crostata too

You can also try signature menu items inspired straight from Italy — especially the espresso-based affogato and tiramisu latte, which are said to be Frolla's signature best-sellers

Frolla is also a panini brunch spot
But wait, this place... turns out it's not just selling coffee and dessert — even food-savvy Kang Min-kyung approved it as a brunch spot 😲 Apparently the panini is especially good! No wonder every table had a panini hahahaha

Espresso lovers, prepare to have your hearts toyed with by these espresso-based menus 👍👍

Dessert only, after a full meal
Sadly, we'd already eaten a full meal before coming, so...
Tiramisu Fig custard crostata Iced americano Gelato caffè latte
Ordered

Iced americano at Frolla
Since we ordered dessert, the safe coffee choice was iced americano
If you want to taste a bold, rich coffee, isn't this exactly the flavor?
When eating dessert, americano is the nicest pairing haha. Especially with sweet desserts like tiramisu or crostata, the coffee's bitterness cuts the sweetness perfectly — so good, seriously

Fig custard crostata (fig tart)
Crostata
An Italian dessert similar to a tart — crisp tart pastry paired with soft custard made for an impressive contrast of soft and crisp textures
Topped with fig, it's a clean, not-too-sweet dessert 🥧 True to an Italian-style café, it felt made with coffee pairing in mind

Frolla's tiramisu
Turns out tiramisu means 'pick me up'? First time I learned that!

Made in-house Frolla's tiramisu
Made following a traditional Italian recipe using 100% Italian mascarpone cheese only, so the thick, creamy texture is on another level

Gelato caffè latte
A drink where you get to enjoy the harmony of sweet iced latte and choco-chip milk gelato. Compared to just drinking an iced latte, adding gelato on top made it feel like having dessert and drink at once
Pair iced americano with sweet desserts, and if you want something a bit different, go for the gelato caffè latte. An Italian coffee spot to enjoy right here in Korea ♡ Good coffee and dessert together — that's happiness
