These days I'm genuinely swamped — modern life, am I right? Haha. I totally forgot, but suddenly this year my driver's license is expiring! I need to renew it by the end of the year, and I kept just thinking about it, and then it turns out my passport expires next year too, with less than 6 months left!!
I kept putting off getting ID photos taken, and suddenly the end of the year is right around the corner 😅 I can't be the only one, right? Making time to actually go to a photo studio is genuinely not easy.
So I looked for a Seolleung, Gangnam photo studio where I could get shooting, retouching, and printing done as fast as possible. When I searched, there were tons of reviews saying the whole process from shooting to printing was over in a flash, so I booked right away haha.

How to find Deokseu Gallery at Seolleung Station Exit 9
Deokseu Gallery is on B1F of the building right in front of Seolleung Station Exit 9. It's the building you see the moment you step out of the exit, so it was really easy to find.
There was no need to wander around or even pull up a map haha. If you're an office worker, it's the perfect spot to duck into during your lunch break. Highly recommend it if you urgently need a passport photo or driver's license renewal photo!!
Why you can arrive with no prep: hair tools, clothes and a steam iron
Deokseu Gallery has all kinds of hair tools ready — dryers, curling irons, you name it. I'd rushed out on my lunch break so my hair was a complete mess 😂
But since the studio had all the hair tools on hand, I could quickly fix my hair and get right to shooting, haha.
They also had clothes ready — shirts, jackets, and so on — so it seemed like a great spot for job-application ID photos too.
They even had a steam iron — what a nice touch~
They gave me plenty of time to get ready before the shoot, so I could take my time. Went from bedhead to totally put-together, haha.
About a dozen shots, then picking your photo tournament-style
At Deokseu Gallery, they take somewhere around a dozen or so shots, and then I get to pick my favorite from among them myself.
I got to review the photos myself, tournament-style — comparing two shots side by side and picking the one I liked. It was genuinely fun narrowing it down myself haha.
When they asked what I wanted touched up, I mentioned I was a little self-conscious about slight facial asymmetry, and they cleaned up the whole photo really nicely, including that!!
With an expert's touch, they retouched everything right there on the spot, checking in with me along the way to make sure I was happy with it. The owner's speed was honestly amazing haha. Kindness as a baseline, plus real attention to detail.
Driver's license and passport photos printed the same day in 15 minutes
At Deokseu Gallery, shooting, retouching, and printing wrapped up in just 15 minutes haha. Luckily, the driver's license photo spec and the passport photo spec are the same, so I knocked out both in one go haha.
Some places make you take the photo and come back later to pick it up, but not having to make a second trip is genuinely the best part!! Mission accomplished, all within my lunch break haha.
For busy office workers, I don't think there's a better photo studio out there. And the results actually look great, too!! Recommend it if you urgently need a passport photo or ID photo.
Backdrop colors, a baby chair and family photos at Deokseu Gallery

They also had a baby chair for dol (first birthday) photos, which looked great for dol shoots or family photos too.
Today I was just here on urgent business, but now I'm thinking I should come back for family photos next time. An ID photo is something you end up using for at least 10 years, so you absolutely have to love it. In that sense, today was a really satisfying day. And the price was such a steal at ₩30,000!! Haha, highly highly recommend.
