Mangwon Market route café in Seoul: choco latte and outlets, PICT

I stopped by PICT Roastery for a quick rest before heading to Mangwon Market. The vibe was great and the staff were friendly, so it was a nice place to take a breather. It's easy to pair with a Mangwon Market visit and good for a coffee break, so I'd recommend it as a date-course stop in Mangwon-dong too.

PICT Roastery is known for its house-roasted single-origin coffee and a variety of desserts.

I visited after lunch and it was already packed. Just a heads-up for anyone planning to visit: if there's a wait, you can stay for up to 2 hours.

After resting with coffee, I browsed Mangwon Market right outside, then went on to Mangwon Hangang Park. Personally, I think PICT Roastery → Mangwon Market food → Mangwon Hangang Park makes a great route.

What the basement café space at PICT Roastery feels like

PICT Roastery is a basement café inside its building. The interior is cozy with a good variety of seating. There are tables by the window that are great for working or reading, so it's comfortable even if you come alone. What I liked most was that every seat has its own outlet.

That's handy if you're using a laptop or tablet or need to charge something. Just note that the 2-person tables don't have their own separate outlets. The restroom is inside, so there's no need to step outside or go to another floor, which was convenient.

PICT Roastery menu: signature drinks, coffee and prices

What caught my eye most was the signature dessert, the aged fig French toast. With the figs piled on top, the toast looked amazing. I actually wanted to order it, but I'd eaten way too much for lunch, so I passed on it this time,, If you take out, you get a ₩1,000 discount. Along with coffee, there are non-coffee drinks and a range of teas, so it's a good spot to bring friends who don't drink coffee.

I kept it simple and ordered an iced americano and a choco latte. Just so you know, the coffee comes in a choice of smooth/nutty or acidic — I went with the smooth one.

Since it was a hot day, the iced coffee really hit the spot. Overall it was on the strong side, which suited my taste well.

The store cup had PICT Roastery's own character printed on it, simple but cute and pretty. It even ended up being a nice little accent in photos.

The choco latte was rich and delicious too. If you like a strong flavor over a watery latte, this should be up your alley. I even got a bit of work done here — the space was so nice that I ended up doing everything I planned. There are window seats and other spots that are comfortable for solo visitors, whether you're just having coffee or working on a laptop. The atmosphere wasn't too noisy, so it was a good place to rest, and the location made it easy to stop by for coffee either before or after browsing Mangwon Market.
