A Yeonnam-dong favorite, Ttasijia Yeonnam.

What is Ttasijia Yeonnam? Singapore's Da Shi Jia opens its first Korean branch
Opened in Yeonnam-dong close to Exit 3 of Hongik University Station, this is the first official Korean branch of "Da Shi Jia," a restaurant that's made Singapore's Michelin Guide for six years running. The menu lineup has such a solid fanbase that people make a special trip just to eat here.

"Da Shi Jia" read in Chinese comes out as Ttasijia! The entrance alone is full of grandeur. And honestly, in weather like this, terrace seating like this is impossible to resist.

Inside Ttasijia Yeonnam: atmosphere and cleanliness
Walking through the entrance, the atmosphere was impressive beyond words, and the owner greeted me warmly!

The restroom was kept spotless too, which gave me even more confidence in the food's cleanliness.

On the table, pepper, chili oil, and sambal sauce are set out to boost the flavor of the food.

Ttasijia Yeonnam menu: hawker bites and drinks
First things first, check the menu! It's organized into best-ranked dishes, signatures, hawker bites, and drinks — and the key here is that this isn't just a place to eat and leave, they actually have a hawker bites menu. Thanks to these bar-food-friendly bites, it's a great spot to enjoy a variety of drinks too.

What we ordered at Ttasijia Yeonnam and what it cost
Cucumber salad, 6,000 won
A refreshing palate cleanser, the cucumber salad (₩6,000).

Shrimp broth fried noodles, 16,500 won
Shrimp broth fried noodles (₩16,500).

You eat it with the accompanying sauce — the shrimp broth pools shallow at the bottom, and the noodle thickness is just right, so you can really taste each ingredient on its own.

Fried shrimp rolls, 10,000 won
Fried shrimp rolls (₩10,000).

The price is nice too — and I couldn't believe how savory it was. The thin wrapper is packed full of shrimp meat that just pops in your mouth.

Shrimp noodles with jumbo prawns, 16,500 won
Shrimp noodles (jumbo prawn), ₩16,500.

You can even choose the size of shrimp that goes into the noodles — medium prawn is ₩12,500, jumbo prawn is ₩16,500, so go big if you can! The shrimp itself is genuinely delicious.

It was nice being able to pick the noodle type to my taste — and since the noodles are easy to digest, my stomach felt comfortable the whole time I was eating.

How to make the shrimp noodles spicy: sambal sauce and chili oil
If you want to kick up the heat, go for sambal sauce + chili oil!

Right when things start to feel a bit plain, dip the fried shrimp roll into the accompanying sauce — a perfect harmony.
